Reviews of Campus Lugano 45 wonderful Smart Suites in the university area

It was generally clean and tidy. The instructions of getting in was really simple and clear and we didn’t have any trouble with that. Location was also nice, not far away from the center (20min walk), nice neighborhood, very chill.

The AC wasn’t working, instead you will have a fan that doesn’t do anything as the balconies are facing the direct sunlight for most of the day. Wifi is working normally inside the apartment but once you are out on the balcony, the connection is mostly lost. The entrance door wasn’t locked at the first time you closed it, so it had to be slammed couple of times to make it work. For a week they didn’t refill any amenities, including towels. During our stay the weather changed from extreme heat to relatively chilly, the duvet was so disgustingly dirty, not impossible to use. Very disappointing experience in general. As there are many options available in the city for the same price, not recommended at all.

There was no cutting board. I had a hard time when I wanted to make a meal in the kitchen. The cleaning is very bad because if you are staying for a long time, they only give you 1 dishwashing tablet. Soap and shampoo were insufficient. The toilet napkins were not enough. And we have to dispose of the kitchen garbage, but because I stayed for a long time, there was only 1 garbage bag and it was not enough. They charged me an extra 22.5 chf which is called city taxing. But I have been here many times and I have never paid this money anywhere I have stayed. Surprisingly.

The hotel was very clean and exactly like the pictures. The location is a bit outside the city center, but it’s not too far and within walking distance. It’s a quiet place, and the staff were very kind and helpful. I had left some belongings behind, and they kindly assisted me to get them back.

Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the bed. The pillows were extremely thin (only two provided, almost like having nothing under your head), and the mattresses were very uncomfortable. They were too soft and thin, and even though I normally don’t have back problems, after two nights I woke up with back pain. My companion, who already suffers from back issues, felt much worse. It was really difficult to get proper rest, and this overshadowed our whole experience. I strongly recommend the hotel to replace the mattresses and pillows, as they are not suitable for a hotel stay. Also, the chairs provided for the desk were just dining chairs, which makes it uncomfortable if you need to sit and work for a while.

The apartment was clean.

The fact that there's nobody to talk to. My email was never answered about the public transport free ticket which is offered by other holiday establishments. The room is hot. Air condition is needed.I expected better services rather than being reminded through email to throw rubbish, to wash plates and to turn off the lights, like the way I do with my children at home.

The room is way smaller than in the pictures. There was no AC, just a noisy fan so that you cannot sleep because of the heat, or you cannot sleep from the noise of the fan or the noise of the street with the window open. It was supposed to be the best of the location, but it was just a standard room. A 10:00 AM checking is something not standard in hotels/residencies. One or two hours later will be very much appreciated.

Really nice place in quiet area of Campus in Lugano. There was everything what you need for normal living (fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with smart TV, bathroom). Nice balcony in the 4th floor with the view on the close mountains. There was nothing here to disturb me. Important Bus stop is 100m from apartment. You can find also good restaurants, bars, pizzas and supermarkets such as Lidl and Coop close by. It broke all my expectations. Really nice and worth for this money.

- Unfortunately weak Wi-Fi. - As people before me wrote here, there was too hot inside (no AC). - Maybe would be nice to put there also salt and pepper, but it's just my opinion. :) Otherwise, there's probably nothing to complain about.

Luck of air conditioning (given that we were in Lugano in an extremely hot day! The fan was an alternative but made a lot of noise during the night. Luckily of extra lights near the bed.

Pleasant stay at Campus Lugano, great location and views from the balcony. Room and bathroom are of a good size. Overall, good value for money.

Does not score 10/10 for following reasons: -1 would be nice to be provided with some basic kitchen essentials (salt, pepper, olive oil) -1 room lighting is quite harsh, and no bedside table or light -1 check-out time is very early (10am), would be good if a flexible check-out option was available

Nice location, comfortable and sparkling clean.

The fact that we have to remove the trash ourselves, no reception, no fitness available whereas it’s written in the description. It looks like the building is still under construction so the AC is also not available. Too much rules with threatening to pay huge amount of money (for example losing the keys results in 700 chf, not emptying the trash results in 100 chf fees, etc…). No available free parking as per description with excessive 20 chf/day requested, but actually plenty of empty spaces can be found nearby.

Adding curtains and decor would have made it feel more homey.

The apartment is newly built but cheaply decorated. The showers were very small and didn’t close properly, and it was extremely hot inside with no air conditioning. The fan provided was very noisy, making it hard to sleep. Accessing the apartment was complicated and we received little support from the organization. There was a lot of noise and smoking in the building until late at night. Would not recommend for a comfortable stay. Very expensive for what you get.

Easily accessible from the train station and city center by bus. Responsive staff, clean and comfortable room.

Such a nice place! Walkable distance to the city center and placed in a quiet neighborhood. The view was also very good. A very clean and comfortable place. Would definitely stay there again!!!

Awful communication with the host further still a constructionsite and therefore quite loud. Otherwise, I found the bed quite hard.
