A comfortable, peaceful cottage 10 minutes from the station and supermarket in Lauterbrunnen.

Perhaps a bedside table in the twin room would have been nice, but everything else is lovely.

We were met at the station by the host, who collected us and our bags in his car and drove us to the chalet. He had a baggage carrier to carry our bags up the path to the door, and showed us around, explaining how to use the washing machine and sauna and where the various outdoor cushions were. The property was really nice, and as shown in the photos. The property is a 10 minute walk, slightly up hill and up steps, from the station, but therefore downhill after you've been out all day, and along the river. Really quiet and peaceful.

Nothing negative to say. There is a short walk up the hill to the chalet but that is fairly common.

I booked the Chalet Elza for a close friend and his family for a one week stay. They were driving in from Germany and were looking for accommodations that were close to Lauterbrunnen and included parking. I had read numerous reviews of the Chalet Elza and they all rated it excellent. From the time I booked it Dave reached out to me and answered all of my questions. The Chalet is only a 20 minute walk from Lauterbrunnen. It is easy to see that Dave and his wife Patricia have worked diligently to make sure that the chalet still retains its rustic charm but also has all the modern amenities. The facility includes a washer and dryer and also a sauna. Dave lives close which is always a plus these days with so many absentee owners. Even though I did not personally stay at the Chalet Elza, I toured it with Dave when we arrived in Lauterbrunnen. My friends are a husband and wife and 2 young children. They had nothing positive comments on their stay

Beautiful property, requires a short walk through an alpine meadow to access. Wonderful beds, well equipped kitchen and nice porch area.

Ceilings are a little low if you are tall.

Chalet Elza is the perfect spot. Away from downtown but a short walk ( 10-15 min) to the town centre. Dave was very friendly and responsive. Wonderful spot and has everything you need.

Literally nothing. Our stay was perfect.

A Truly Magical Stay at Chalet Elza! Our stay at Chalet Elza in Lauterbrunnen was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Dave, the host, who went above and beyond to make our experience smooth and memorable. He was extremely friendly, accommodating, and incredibly flexible—willing to pick us up and drop us off during both check-in and check-out, which made our travels so much easier. The chalet itself is stunning. Nestled in one of the most breathtaking valleys in the world, the view from the front of the property is absolutely jaw-dropping—straight out of a postcard. Every corner of the chalet was spotless, well-maintained, and felt safe and cozy. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into keeping the space neat, tidy, and welcoming. This stay was an unforgettable experience, and we can’t recommend Chalet Elza (and Dave!) enough. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Beautiful place, with a fireplace, grill, nice living room and spacious rooms. Really lovely place. The owner was very attentive and helpful, provided sledges, got us whatever we needed and advice on where to go, as well as drove us to town and back on check-in and out. The shower was a bit tight and ran out of hot water a few times, and it takes about 15 mins to get to town on a bit of a slippery path in winter.

Maybe I have a lack of small children’s chair, in bath as mother of a small child. Also being pregnant we had some a need for taxi and food delivery as well.

It’s incredibly quiet place with a wood house of a dream - cozy beds with illustration, aromatic fireplace inside and outside the house, bbq place, big field for a private place spending. Manager Dave was so polite and friendly- all services he gave from heart. We felt cared for.

    Nothing - everything was perfect.

The hosts Patricia and David were so lovely and helpful. They met us at the train station and took us to the chalet. The Chalet is only a short walk from town, but such a gorgeous walk along the river, we loved doing it. The chalet was everything we wanted for a traditional stay in Switzerland for our family of 4 adults. It was clean, well stocked in the kitchen, laundry and sauna access, comfy beds, an amazing view, indoor (very easy to light) and outdoor fire that we loved looking down the valley and easy access to the mountains. Could not fault this property or the owners. I would highly recommend, and would stay again if we return.

I cannot think of anything that was not perfect.

We stayed here between Christmas and New Year, and we had a great time. This chalet was fantastic, it had the authentic character that you expect in the Alps but also high-quality fittings and very clean. The surroundings and the view from the chalet is absolutely amazing. The garden is basically half a mountain. There is a path from the chalet to the Lauterbrunnen that takes about 10 minutes with very scenic view. The wood burning stove is fantastic in the winter. The host, Dave, was amazing as well, picking us and dropping off from and to the railway station and giving us information about bus timetable and directions. All in all a great stay, and I highly recommend it.

I am aware that the location needs like 15mins walk to Lauterbrunnen station. However, we weren’t aware that the bus near the place is operating only till 5pm and the frequency is like every hour. When it gets and you miss the bus timing, you’ll have to walk back in pitch darkness along the river. On the contrary, my boys enjoyed the evening walk back home, they said it’s actually one of the most enjoyable memories they have. Well probably because they’re boys and they make fun of me scared of the dark. Switzerland is a very safe country, that’s the good thing on the situation and we used our phones torch light as we walk. I thin that’s the only thing to highlight for those who don’t drive. But if you like adventure same as my boys then that shouldn’t be an issue.

We love the cozy feeling the house gives and the beautiful surroundings. Dave and Pat were very accommodating hosts. They really say and do what they committed to their guests.

The Chalet Elza is the perfect accommodation for a hiking and relaxation weekend in the Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken region. The apartment is very cozy and perfectly equipped (it even has a sauna). The owners of the apartment Dave and Patricia are also incredibly friendly and helpful. They provided us with plenty of information in advance, lit the fireplace before our arrival upon request, and even helped us with our luggage when we arrived. We will definitely come back!

This quaint 300 year old cabin was a gem for our trip to Lauterbrunnen.

The bathroom was a little small due to it being a 300 year old cabin. While there is no heat in the cabin, space heaters were provided in the bedrooms. To heat the downstairs you needed to start a fire, which Patricia already had ready to go for us. We chose not to light the fire as we didn't want our clothing to smell like smoke for the remainder of our trip.

Patricia met us at the location, brought all of our luggage up to the chalet, showed us around the entire propery and explained how everything worked. It was so personal and nice to meet her. We were allowed to use the laundry facilities as well. The views off the front porch were spectacular! We also liked that it wasn't in the heart of town so we had some peace and quiet with a nice walk to town when we wanted to go in.
