Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot so much did not like, more advice: The pillows on the bed are no more than feather cushions, wish I had took my own pillow. If going out on the balcony, I found I needed to make sure I was not barefoot, as my wife pulled the large splinter from the sole of my foot
Situated just on the outskirts of Kandersteg, what a fantastic chalet. The pictures do not do it justice, there’s a lot more room than you imagine. Clean, well equipped, bathroom is modern with loads of space, kitchen areas is adequate with 2 ring electric hob a microwave and toaster, kettle and coffee machine, crockery pans and utensils supplied, Fantastic breakfast views. A good size dining table seats 4 comfortably. Sitting room/bedroom; a large area with a good size sofa, a chair and coffee table, wall mounted tv with ‘English channels’ a super king size bed in the sleeping area (very large) two wardrobes and bedside cupboards. Double doors lead out onto the exterior balcony where there are two chairs and a table, ideal for relaxing to the sound of the stream. Watch the Herons come for breakfast and evening meal as there is a ‘fish farm’ next door. On the whole the perfect location, an hours drive to Interlaken or you can use the public transport system, bus stop literally 2 minutes from the chalet, bus takes you Kandersteg Railway station… trains are clean efficient and punctual, if you are going to travel on trains a lot, then go onto the BLS website (train operator) and buy a weekly pass. We found that on arrival the chalet owner supplied us with’ local travel passes’ allowed free transport on the local bus, some local train journeys and discounts on other things like cable cars etc. There is a Co-op and Volg mini supermarkets in town, also a great bakery (Lidl is bigger and cheaper, in Spiez One of the best accommodation we have used, great value for money.

United KingdomHeating - the system is turned very low so the radiators didn't heat up. We didn't have great weather so we're chilly when returning home. Would be better to have control over the temperature of these.
Spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Good wifi. Well equipped kitchen. Good location. Parking. Powerful, warm shower. Good communication. Would stay again.

NetherlandsThe location was quiet and had an amazing view. It was close enough to the ski lift and train station. The host was also kind and replied promptly to any questions.

RomaniaAbsolutely nothing to mention.
The apartment is very comfortable: big kitchen with dining area, bathroom with a shower and a very spacious room with king size bed and sitting area, completed by a balcony with an amazing view to a small river that crosses the backyard between the fir trees, with the mountains on the background! All the apartment was fully equipped, we found there everything that we needed, and what we didn't - a socket adapter - the host was kind enough to borrow one to us. Everything was very clean and, believe me, I am very picky and still I found nothing dirty or dusty. The bed sheets and towels also clean and comfortable, as well as the bed and pillows. Kandersteg is a lovely town with plenty of restaurants and shops of all kinds. We traveled by car and from this location we were able to go to Furkapass, Interlaken, Thun and Berna, Brienz and Rothorn, Lauterbrunnen and Wengen, Grindelwald in about 1 hour.
