Beware the description "Riverside room". It's on the same side as the river certainly, but in our case that did not actually mean that the river was visible! Too many trees in the way.

The room was basic but comfortable and very spacious. And the shower was excellent (although it took a while for the hot water to come through). The secure parking is a real plus but if you book your room through Booking.com they make you pay E20 for it, whereas if you book direct it is free.

To me the rooms are a little sparse and bare, the pillows a little soft and the rooms far too hot but it didn't detract at all from our stay, just a preference thing. Also, the price, we paid over £400 for the stay, not including breakfast or parking which even in Switzerland is a little eye watering for a budget hotel for one night.

Fantastic staff on the desk at check in and then later that evening the lady on the desk went out of her way to make us something to eat as we missed the kitchen. Really helpful giving us advice about trams, giving us adaptor plugs and everything we needed. Good food, good breakfast and a convenient location with the tram stop right outside.

Lovely hotel, doesn't look much from the outside but the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff really friendly and the extra snacks /fruit were a bonus as well as the free public transport with their card.

The size of the double bed could be improved, which is small by normal standards

Very friendly and available staff. Hotel very well located, close to the center and the metro. Although my stay did not include breakfast, fruit, coffee, tea and some cakes were provided free of charge, which we greatly appreciated. We loved the completely free access to bicycles, which were the means of transport used to get to know the city.

The price on booking was not the same aa I paid on desk. I paid extra 50€ than the amount on booking.

I loved the room, was clean and comfortable. Staff were so friendly and they helped me to explore the city.

Location is good. 20 min. walk to train station or tram is another option arriving to the hotel. I also want to mentioned clean rooms and cheerful staffs.

Instead of soap the were two body lotions in the bathroom. The shower gel quality could be higher.

Well designed and equipped room and bathroom (extra star for the hairdryer :-)) Very clean and well organised The open free snack & fruit bar is a huge plus

I think Washrooms need to be redesigned. There should be bath tubs or a properly covered shower area.

Fruit am coffees are provided free of cost to the guests and it is available 24/7. Further late check in was also very comfortable and hassle free. We checked in late night at around 23:30

In some rooms (like mine) you can't open window so in conjunction with the lack of the A/C makes room difficult to regulate the temperature. Other than that - I was very satisfied with my stay.

Great money-to-value ratio (as per Swiss standards :-)) - the hotel is conveniently located, the personnel was very friendly and the breakfast was tasty.

Right next to a bus and tram stop so very easy to get to Friendly staff, was able to check in early. Rooms were basic but had what you needed Breakfast was varied Liked the ability to come back to a cup of tea and piece of cake in the evening

I would prefer bigger pillows just in case someone couldn't sleep in those flat ones in the room.

Extremely kind and willing to help staff. Even though not in the city center they provided you with Basel card that gives you access to public transportation. They let us use the facilities even after our check out

The mattress of the bed it's way too soft

The rooms are very clean, the position of the hotel it's exactly near a tram that it's going to the center, the staff it's very friendly and willing to answer your questions. You also have free water and coffee and some fruit in the lobby of the hotel
