Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing.
It is an authentic B&B with beautiful wood-panelled rooms with views over the mountains. The family suite on the third floor had two quiet and comfortable bedrooms and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with fresh local produce. Our host was very attentive.

Our room was spotlessly clean, large, traditional and very Swiss. Absolutely lovely. A lovely breakfast was available and we certainly enjoyed it. Our host was a lovely person, helpful and quietly efficient.

AustraliaA wonderfully ‘Swiss’ B & B with classic alpine bedrooms: ours had a private bathroom and plenty of space. Wonderfully quirky decor throughout. The owner is very friendly and helpful (and at least trilingual as is so often the case in Switzerland ). Breakfast was simple but good, and made with local products. Rosaly is very convenient for the station and local supermarket.

SwitzerlandBreakfast was healthy good cheese, jams, cereals, could have done with some hams, more of a vegetarian breakfast, a very minor moan. Apart from that, great, good place.
Location, owner was very helpful, interesting room.

SwitzerlandPleasant and welcoming Bed and Breakfast. It is located in the centre of Chateau-d'Oex, five minutes walking from the train station. Our room was quite charming, in traditional Swiss style. It was quiet and spacious. No problems with using bathroom and shower just opposite the room. Also the rest of the house is well maintained and nicely decorated. The breakfast is copious and the host quite friendly. We enjoyed our stay!

PortugalI have nothing bad to say.
We specifically stayed here to see the hot air balloon festival. It was the perfect location to see and walk to the festival. The breakfast was very good and Urs went above an beyond. He helped organize our transport when ours did not show up. I highly recommend this B&B and I would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomClimate change is so sad and obvious here. Chateau d'Oex is no longer on the ski map and the piste managers are closing down areas earlier in the season. Saanemoser remains open and Glacier 3000 at Les Diablerets assures snow at all times (wind permitting).
Good and varied breakfast including a picnic breakfast for the day we departed very early. Wonderful, kind and friendly staff.

CanadaThe staff were so warm and welcoming, exactly what I was looking for as part of the trip. We had the view we wanted, and here are the bonuses. It's steps away from a supermarket, a postal office, 5mins walk to an excellent restaurant, we can't ask for anything more convenient. The place we stayed in as a local charm, which makes the experience much more authentic. The rooms are so comfortable, the views are exceptionally lovely. I sure hope to be back more often, if I can! Thank you for having us!

SwitzerlandEspecially traveling with kids, I wished there was a garden or more common space to use besides the breakfast room. We had a huge terrace, but it was sparsely furnished and not super comfortable for hanging out. Because it's a traditional old wooden house, it's also very noisy--which is understandable. However, for light sleepers like me, that means you'll be awake early in the morning when the neighbors start moving around (creaky floors), and there are many people on hike/bike tours who get started quite early. We still enjoyed our stay despite these slight drawbacks.
Breakfast was full and varied, with special housemade treats like the bread and jam. The host was friendly and accommodating. The room was very charming, and though it was small, it was well designed to not feel cramped or lacking in any way. The fact that the WC and shower were separate also didn't bother us at all. There's a shared refrigerator on each floor and a washbasin in the room to make teeth brushing, etc. easier.
