I had not been told in advance that there was no washing machine in the room, but in the basement, so I did not use it. What a shame. The air conditioner was not a permanent installation in the building, but a portable cooler. It was insufficient for the recent heatwave, but I made do by taking showers and making ice in the freezer, so it was quite comfortable. I understand that in Europe it is difficult to add a wall-mounted air conditioner later, so a portable cooler will be required.

Communication with the owner was extremely smooth. The room was spacious and clean. The table was large and comfortable. The terrace had a nice view, there were no bugs, and I was able to relax and enjoy my coffee.

The communication with the host wasn't very smooth, however, in the end all was sorted out.

The apartment is very nice, clean, well equipped. I was very much satisfied staying there. I can recommend it, if you look for an option in this part of Basel.

The neighborhood is rather dull, but there’s a supermarket right next door and a tram stop just a few minutes’ walk away. The convention center is also about a 7–8 minute walk. One additional point is the check-in process. The host does send detailed instructions, and if you read them carefully and attentively, there shouldn’t be any problem. However, it’s easy to get confused because there is more than one apartment under the host’s name in the building. Also, the city tax must be paid in cash only (or via bank transfer, which isn’t really practical for someone coming from abroad)

I was really pleasantly surprised. The apartment is very beautiful, comfortable, spacious, and clean, with a small and lovely balcony. It’s fully equipped with everything you need. 10/10. The price is very low compared to what you get.

The communication with the owner was terrible, I had to called him several times to know how to check-in. I informed him about my arrival time but check-in remained at 7pm. The apartment looked clean but the bedsheets were stinking. I informed him about it.

The apartment looks exactly as in the pictures. It offers the basic features for a short stay. The best is the balcony.

The 19:00 check-in was too late, as we arrived in Basel in the morning. If even we asked the host to store a small luggage till 19:00, he refused us. Also, communication with the host was poor as it could only be done in writing, which was difficult.

The 19:00 check-in was so late as we arrived in Basel at 14:30 already and could not store our luggage.

The only negative thing is that when we checked in, there was no heating and we were freezing all night, but the owner of the apartment sincerely tried to solve that problem in the morning, which I hope will not allow such an unpleasant situation to occur in the future.

The apartment is modernly furnished, clean, has everything you need for a short stay. The location is great, close to the center.

Our experience was unfortunately quite disappointing. We had no contact with the host at all, and even though we sent all our details in advance, we never received the Basel Card. This meant we couldn’t use any of the local discounts, which was a big letdown. The bed linen hadn’t been changed and had an unpleasant smell, the same with the towels – they didn’t feel fresh at all. While the place looked fairly clean at first, it quickly became obvious that basic things were overlooked. Some dishes were dirty, and it just didn’t feel properly prepared for guests. We were expecting something much better based on the listing, but sadly, it didn’t live up to it.

Very hot during the heat wave, and no fans in the apartment. The small AC unit we found tucked away had no instructions and didn't fit the window. Fridge froze our groceries!

Quiet, residential neighborhood that felt safe to walk at night. Amenities like a grocery and pharmacy close by, and only minutes from Basel Bad Bf. Great kitchen and bathroom, lovely small private balcony, and appreciated the building and apartment security. Excellent communication.

The bed was too soft for our liking and sparse nylon bedding and the neighbourhood and entrance a little dirty and run down.

The host was TERRIBLE with communication. I had a late check in of 19:00. That is the time you're supposed to receive the code to enter. I did not receive it. I contacted the host & she would either not respond, or say things like "have you read the isntructions?". I was sitting on the steps until after 20:00. I had read the instructions & the way the badly written instructions were written is that they wanted the passport details to get a Basel card for you (not to receive the code to the apartment). The host also did not reply when I reached out to booking.com to reach out to her.
