How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Christian was the crown jewel of this place. He is a thoughtful, considerate and hospitable host who needs to be cloned and spread across the globe! He went out of his way to make his guests feel welcomed. Whatever he didnt have, he would volunteer to get. And bonus for all guests wishing to explore the area: ask him for the Oskar card! It saved me tons of money!

My room was on the main street and therefore a but noisy .
It is extremely well located in St Gallen, very clean, welcoming staff .

On busy main road with noisy traffic. Air-conditioning would be a plus.
Christian, the owner, was very welcoming. The hotel is well situated with good bus connections to the town centre. Clean, bright and spacious room. Delicious breakfast.

Not enough electrical outlets in the room. Some hot egg and hot meat options for the morning breakfast would have been a nice touch. The breakfast was definitely complete and good, but not exceptional. I would have liked a greater assortment of pillows. Mine was much softer/thinner than I prefer and I've been in hotels where there was more choice or perhaps extra ones to boost one's neck, etc. Street traffic noise was a bit much even with all the windows shut and curtains drawn. We were in the 2nd floor of rooms (not counting the ground floor). I believe there might have been rooms not overlooking the street - not sure.
The proprietor was very helpful and very personable! I was pleasantly surprised to find wash cloths - a luxury in European hotels in my experience. Private parking. Close distance to attractions (walking). Large room. Excellent shower. Good supply of hooks in the bathroom for hanging things. Breakfast was complete and good if not exceptional. Calm inside the hotel.

Maybe a bar area , there is a lovely area next to reception could easily have sat there with a glass of wine before dinner
This is a very lovely hotel, close enough to the centre to be convenient but far enough away to be quiet. The hotel manager couldn't be more helpful. The rooms are large , ours had a balcony and large modern shower. Breakfast was very good. Faultless

I understand what people say about the dirt corners. It didn't bother us so much because it was only one night, but I would suggest a deep cleaning of the rooms

All good.
This hotel was a great stopover spot for our family while travelling in Switzerland. It was warm and clean, the manager was delightfully friendly, obligingly helpful and fun to chat with. Highly recommend.

For a solo traveller it is expensive for time of year. However, relative to prices in Switzerland probably good.
1. Location excellent within walking distance of city centre and central train station. 2. Christian was an excellent host welcoming guests and accommodating our every need. I arrived early but Christian took my bags to my room and offered me coffee and croissant while I waited for the room to be ready. Felt so welcome and at home there. 3. Comfortable bed. Large shower. I requested a quiet room and was given a beautiful room at the back of the hotel. 4. Breakfast was simple but yet had everything I needed to start the day.
