United KingdomThe man on duty when we arrived was not very friendly so it wasn’t a great welcome. Despite having lots of guests from different countries all speaking to staff in English, he snapped a No! at us when we were checking in & asked if he spoke English. He gave us no information about anything other than that breakfast was at 8:30am. The room had no plugs anywhere helpful for charging phones & the one we found behind the desk did not fit with the European adaptor that had worked in every other place. No facilities for making your own coffee & no fridge. For the price, it wasn’t great value for money.
Lovely guesthouse located only 1/2 an hour’s walk from the Rhine Falls. Room was okay but a little basic for the price but did have a nice strong shower. Breakfast was delicious & plenty of choice. The lady who served us for breakfast was very friendly & helpful. Great coffee with breakfast too!

CanadaI believe breakfast in the restaurant was not available until 8:30am. Which was a bit late for those wanting to get an early start, so we were offered the "serve yourself" option. When we got to the breakfast room (around 7:30), several people must have already eaten. There were no clean plates for us to use, and there was very limited options left. When we checked in, I got the impression that we were an annoyance to our host. He had trouble figuring out our Canadian passport information, eventually asking me to type it into his computer for him. He was somewhat curt with us, and I felt like an unwanted guest.
Our rooms (a single and a double) were clean, well-designed, and spacious. The beds were comfortable. There was a secure lockup for our bikes. The price was reasonable for the area.

United StatesAs soon as we arrived we were pressured by staff to schedule our breakfast there at the restaurant. When we returned that day to the hotel one of the I assumed wait staff demanded I give him seven Euros while he shoved his portable credit card machine at me. I was told all taxes and fees were covered by this site so I was a little confused. We were eventually told it was for a tourist tax. Over all, for a lack of better words, the place just creeped us out. It seems the new owners are relying on old reviews to get unsuspecting people to book rooms. Definitely not the four star hotel it once was.
It is in a quiet location although there is a clock bell that rings at every hour through out the night and early morning right outside the window.
