The upper room in this 630 year old building was amazing. All the old timbers were exposed, and beautiful. Comfortable bed, hot shower, all good. The check-in didn't go as advertised, but a call got us in with no trouble. The common room is nice for sitting, has a app-driven vending machine, and pay coffee machine. But no refrigerator or microwave, which we really like to have as we hike the via Berna.

FranceThe check in that needs to be done on a tablet took some 10-15 min. Our booking was for two rooms, as we are with children, and the system allocated us rooms on different floors in different parts of the hotel. It would be good to have an option to choose the room location when administering check in for more than one room.

It's a self-check-in hotel so no staff. The room is comfy and clean but does not have any tea or coffee-making facilities. I highly recommend a visit to Pizzeria da Carlos, a short walk and one of the best meals I had on my trip.
