How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Online check-in didn't work, I was supposed to get my transport card before the arrival but I didn't receive it.
Very close to the train station and city center, good connections with other parts of the city. Quiet and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Storage option, laundromat nearby.

Everything apart from the room seemed to induce an extra cost - water, tea, coffee etc....... It would be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Fairly short walking distance from the main train station. Room was nice and cool on arrival with an effective AC unit. Very comfortable beds and quiet surroundings made for a sound night sleep.

No tea/coffee facility in the bedroom, but when I asked at reception if I could get a coffee, I was told to just help myself from the breakfast area, which was much appreciated. No hair conditioner only shampoo and bodywash.
Staff very nice. Easy walk to river/old town. Clean and bed very comfortable. Good value in an expensive city.

Our room only had one plug socket and was far away from the twin beds, so was a challenge to charge our things, and I didn't even bother trying to use my hair styler as there were no mirrors anywhere close and I can't use my phone easily for a mirror. I also found the stay quite expensive, but I think that's just Geneva - not necessarily the hotel's fault :)
Really well located close to the train station, so great for getting places. Also, the hotel provided a link to a free Geneva travel card, which meant that we could travel on the tram free while we were there which was great.

Room cleaning was unsystematic and not very good. The lack of a minibar in the room was a hassle for us.
The hotel's location and room size were excellent. It's a real value-for-money option for Geneva. The reception staff were very helpful.

Bathroom facilities were disappointing. I had a towel hook which was fully snapped off, the plug in the bathroom sink was broken (if you tried to use the plug and fill the sink it got jammed and was unable to drain) and the shower head was loose and only pointed in a very odd angle which made it tricky to shower.
Close to the main train station which made it convenient to get around the city. Very comfortable bed and spacious enough room.

Breakfast no choice . Compact room for 3 people
Close to transportation and the city center too. Walking distance to old town and water front. Good for short stay.

Not able to eat my takeout in the dining area on the ground floor. Most hotels allow you to use their facilities ( this area was not a restaurant, only used for breakfast) to avoid people eating messy takeout in the bedroom.
Good Hotel, close to town, public transport and shops. Breakfast was good too with lots of choices.

Check-in was a bit slow, and one of our rooms was noticeably smaller than the other. The bathroom felt a bit cramped, and the beds weren't very comfortable—especially at the corners. At breakfast, while the options were good, items like sautéed vegetables and pancakes weren’t refilled quickly. Just a few things to improve for an otherwise convenient stay.
I had a wonderful stay at ibis Genève Gare! The location is excellent—just a short walk from the main train station, making it super convenient for travelers. It’s also close to public transport, restaurants, and key attractions in Geneva. The breakfast was good. I especially appreciated the quick and hassle-free checkout process, which saved time and made my departure smooth. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the room size was ok. Overall, a great value stay in the heart of Geneva. Highly recommended for both short and long stays!

Not the nicest neighbourhood. Most expensive hotel of all the hotels in Europe… and it was very basic.
