How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation and south view is nice. Breakfast was totally ok though nothing fancy with very friendly staff. Room was large with balcony. Bathroom was renovated and had all the basic products needed as well as nice towels and robes. Bed was comfortable as was pillows and duvet. Staff very friendly.
The hotel is clearly not renovated for a long time but rather patched where needed. Room is pretty dated but with a newer carpet. Seems like they have done urgent renovations but left anything else for the future. The sauna was operating between 17-19, Hamam was broken. Gym equipement is very very old. An older lady runs the place with a firm hand, scaring both guests and staff. I would not rate this hotel 4 stars in Switerland by any means. A 3 star in Zermatt holds much higher standards.
Hello, We have noted your comments and are doing everything we can to resolve these inconveniences. We hope to welcome you back to our establishment and ensure your complete satisfaction. Grand Hôtel du Parc

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is stunning.
We felt as if we were visiting our least popular very old aunt, who didn't want us to visit her ,with her team of helpers. No lights were on in the hotel, nor in the beautiful bar, restaurant and public beautiful rooms. The old aunt only wanted to activate the sauna from 5 pm, which in most cases was forgotten by the staff. The staff was sitting in the salon in the dark, and behind the reception they only had the light of the computer screen. The breakfast was horrible, and one of us got food poisoning by the eggs being served at the breakfast.

Verified reviewLocation
Premises and rooms pretty aged, in need of modernization. Booked a double room for single occupancy. We showed up together and had to pay CHF 65 extra even though I booked the double room. Way too expensive.

Verified reviewUnfortunately only the view and even that was ruined by the lack of attention, care, maintenance of this place. This place has everything to excel but from minute 1, the experience was really poor.
We paid for a 4* Hotel. We were received by a kitchen person that his first question was, what is your room number? No services were presented, no breakfast timings, nul. Basically no reception service We got to the room around 16:50 when you can have a really beautiful sunset but we were received by a hot room (something that could easily be fixed by the fresh air of the mountains) but the balcony was dirty and not even cleaned-up from the snow. Not even a chair or table was clean/available for us to sit. We booked a room to enjoy the sunset and the mountain views but could only do it from the inside 🤯🤯🤯 Most services were closed - Bar, Wellness (plus smell badly). We asked at the reception if the bar would be open and/or the wellness and the responses were really unprofessional/almost mocking - ...It depends if there is anyone here...🤯🤯🤯 The door to access the ski local could only be from the inside and we could not even use the door downstairs to go directly out, we needed to carry the heavy skis through the reception 🤯🤯🤯 The hotel path was icy (which I understand) but the lights were off all the time, which was super dangerous for us to walk because it was pitch dark 🤯🤯🤯 I can only wonder how many guests might get hurt if this is a rule. I'm an Hospitality Graduate by education and was a concierge for a number of years and what was supposed to be a nice weekend to celebrate friends bday in the mountains 4h30 away from home, turned into an expensive flop. This place does not deserve in its' current exploitation status 2* INCREDIBLY POOR EXPERIENCE. I gave it a 4 with the hope, this place can feel that there is hope but they only deserve a 0-1 rating. Verified reviewProperty is in great location. It is a landmark location in the center of montana with a unique, unbeatable view. Staff is great and very nice.
Hotel needs care and renovation. A very historic hotel is abandoned by the management… urgent action is needed to preserve it and show its glory. It is sad that no extra care is given.

Verified reviewThe room was very spacious, with a big terrace and bathroom. The bed was comfy and the view from the balcony is amazing.
The hotel felt outdated and was a bit run down. There was no light around it at night and when we arrived we were not sure if the place was open. There was hardly any staff around and it felt like the hotel was operated on the minimum.
