No basic toiletry was available, not even a small bar of soap and I checked everywhere in the apartment (and having arrived late at night it was not even possible to buy it anywhere, so that was quite inconvenient)

Apartment is nicely furnished and spacious, bed was comfortable, terrace overlooks the quiet inner courtyard.

- it would be great to have wifi available, even though router was there I didn't get any instructions on how to connect to internet - pillowcases can be probably changed for newer ones - lack of BaselCard

- great localization, most tourist spots are relatively close - kitchen have all dishes and cutlery you might need, very easy to prepare food for yourself - it was quite warm in apartment - nice balcony with beautiful view on courtyard - tv was working and I was able to switch between channels without remote control, sufficient choice of channels

The queen bed was on two twin frames making it uncomfortable. Laundry was not available as listed. WiFi would not connect (to be fair it wasn’t listed but there was an instruction guide provided). Host took a long time to respond after check-in.

The shower is an old-fashioned hand-held one.

Ideally located for the Messe, which was what brought me to Basel. It would suit a couple looking for a stay of several days as it is very spacious, has a balcony and kitchen, and is also very affordable if only by Swiss standards. The location, in a residential area, is fine and it was not noisy at all.

As it mentioned washing machine but honestly I really didn't see any washing machine there. This was my 2nd stay in Basel. My first stay in other hostel they did provide me Basel card in order for me to take public transport for free. But this hostel they didn't mention about this even I message them but no one reply me

Change bed mattress, it was wavy and really uncomfortable. The wc seat , the wc was running water and was cracked. No shower head hanging hook. 1vof the balcony doors was about to dismantle, careful when you open, needs a check.

I would ask the owner Ricardo If he would be happy to take his partner to some accommodation he'd booked, only to find:- 1. there was barely a 1/2 a toilet role for 2 people for two nights; 2. there was no dish cloth or tea towel to properly clean up any dishes they'd used, 3. there was no bath soap to even wash themselves with when showering. If you want to get good ratings for your accommodation, go stay in someone else's rental apartment and see they at the minimum, provide the basic necessities any travellers' should enjoy for the money they've paid. The best accommodation places provide these simple things, but even more. They will leave out a supply of coffee and tea, even milk and some complimentary fruit or biscuits. They will ensure there is ample kitchen facilities and most importantly, they will always ensure there is sufficient toilet paper and a reasonable supply of bathing soap for customers to use. My advice is if you want to improve ratings then pay attention to this small detail. As a traveller it is very disappointing to find this situation.

Ricardo the host was gracious enough to allow us to leave luggage in the room earlier than check-in. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've had so far in our 12 weeks away.

Other than location and a great basic studio setup with a balcony there is too much to be fixed for a good review. No toiletries, a single towel for all uses, no iron and ironing board, broken lights, running toilet, no plug for the bathtub or place to hang the shower handle and flimsy shower curtain making washing very difficult, water kettle unusable (wrong plug), uncomfortable saggy bed, heavy smoke smell, dirty and messy storage areas, broken chest of drawers, missing door to bedroom, thin and flimsy front door with no noise insulation. All of this could be very easily fixed but at the moment it has too much to improve.

Just the bed were not really comfy, and the 2nd day there was a very strong smell of like plastic burning (kinda) coming from the bathroom, we exactly couldn't understand where it was coming from and then it just went away.

Very good location, we had everything we needed, very quiet neighborhood and all the transports were super close.

The guests prior to our reservation had left their trash in the kitchen - but this turned out to be positive, as upon informing the host about it he came over, fixed it, moreover: he gave us coffee capsules free of charge for a compensation.

The accommodation was pleasant, the host, Ricardo was friendly, he replied by WhatsApp quickly. The check-in was easy, the host gave clear information in writing, the key could be taken out of the mailbox with a code. The kitchen was well equipped. The balcony overlooked a tranquil inner courtyard. Wifi worked, we only needed to restart the router day by day. The room is on the 2nd floor, but you can use the elevator as well. The apartment has very good location, the city is easily accessible by several tram lines and buses, and there is a supermarket (Denner) in the immediate vicinity.

The bathroom needs a complete update. Toilet bowl cracked. Bath enamel badly chipped and scored, no plug. Position of shower head unacceptable and unable to use except hand held. Kitchen facilities ok except no plug for the sink New kettle provided on arrival by owner as existing badly scaled. Curtain rail fitted so the door to balcony hit it and would not open. Overall the property is in need of some TLC. However, the owner who met us at the airport is a very personable and friendly person.

So many things were not good. TV not working - checked electrical outlets were ok. Checked ITV box - seemed OK so must be remote control. Microwave would not respond. Checked electrical outlets all good but would not turn on. No tea towel - would be a good idea for those nit eating meals inside. Room was too dark - black paper on main window gave a sense of doom. Curtains poorly fitted and difficult to open and close. I had to keep hooking them up as they kept dropping. Worst part was the heat. Put fan on all night but the clack clack sound made sleep difficult. No plug for bath tub and shower- no matter what I turned it pulled it twisted shower would not come on. I left a full day early as I needed to freshen up after two humid days of walking around lovely Basel and I needed a good nights sleep. The security code for keys was not needed as I opened the mailbox and the keys were just sitting there for anyone to take. I tried to return keys to security box but the box would not close. Makes the apartment open for anyone playing around with the mailboxes.

Easy access to public transport and walking. Bed comfortable.
