One serious complaint: I booked four nights and was presented the total price. Later, after I booked, I was informed that there was a mistype and that I had not been offered the proper total amount. My opinion is that, once presented with a price, the customer shouldn't have to pay more. The error should have been absorbed by the venue or Booking.com (dependent on who made the error). But, as this was a special occasion, I negotiated. The issue was resolved (not to my liking) by my paying the amount of their error. But I was not required to pay the pet fee for my dog. Ultimately, I still absorbed most of their error. This was my second stay at Griesalp. On the first occasion, I suggested that they provide better chairs or at least a seat cushion for the chairs. In that room, and on this visit, there were only uncomfortable, old, small wooden chairs without cushions. The only other option was to sit on the bed. For the price of this venue, that's not much to ask. The host/manager was very efficient but rather abrupt in our dealings with her.

Absolutely beautiful location in the Swiss alps! Just beyond the hotel there are so many unimaginable hiking opportunities! The hotel is comprised of three primary buildings and all are of the traditional Swiss design. Breakfast (included) is in the main restaurant and is very good but it would be nice to see them change it up a bit each morning. It was the same fare every day. Dinner is good but rather pricey.

Great location for the walk I was doing, room was perfect size with ensuite shower room. Breakfast had good buffet selection. Staff managed to fit me in for dinner although I hadn't booked in advance. Place had a friendly atmosphere

This is an iconic establishment in a unique location, which was perfect for me walking the Via Alpina. The facilities are very good. Evening meal and breakfast of high standard.

Lady at the reception was totally incapable to make check in/check out, we waited long, she was fully incapable to handle more then 2 people with the same info at the same time. Breakfast was supposed to be served at 7.45, still at 8 the lady in the breakfast room was tidying and lightning the candles instead of preparing food. We were in hurry to catch the bus at 8.40 due to this we very super in hurry( together with check out of 10 min even when all was paid via booking)

They change the menu in the evening, We expected something simple like a Röschti or a Croute after our hike. It was not available for dinner and the staff was not very nice about it. Only "fancy" and expensive dishes available. There's a more relaxed place 15 min walk down the road.

Unfortunately, the computer system crashed immediately prior to our arrival. It was impossible for the manager to place several members of our party for what seemed like a long time.

I enjoyed the quiet setting of the Griesalp! The staff was friendly and helpful! The restaurant and staff were outstanding! The food was delicious! My cabin was small but very clean, modern and comfortable!

Small shower cubicles really for the size of the room, would have been nice to have kettle and hot drinks in the room for a 4 star hotel. I asked to borrow and iron and I was told I can’t have 1 - your a hotel and a 4 star you should provide this - that was really bad. I think Theresa is kind but also a little rude, the welcoming was a little broken, she was on the phone whilst checking me in and never really gave me a good insight into the place, which kind of left me feeling a little lost for the whole stay - but she’s a lovely lady! The drive up to the hotel is a 28% inclination and the hotel needs to state that so if hiring a car you do so appropriately!

Views, private residential area for guests only. Good shower, comfortable beds. Free parking. Good size room.

The restaurant is expensive which is okay but if you prefer to dine more affordably, bring your own groceries. Shop before arrival; this property is very remote and the nearest grocery store is quite a drive away. There is a snack bar but it too is expensive and the selection is limited. Suggestion to management - my room was very sparsely furnished; a double bed, two hard wooden chairs, a small round table and a ceiling light. It felt a bit like a cell. At a minimum, please also provide at least one comfortable chair and a bedside lamp for ambiance or evening reading.

The food is a bit lacking for Vegan people.. And it is a bit on the pricy side for what it offers.. You still have to pay extra for certain facilities.. *not a problem,but the drive up is an adventure. Make sure to NOT do it while the post car is driving..

The staff is extra nice and welcoming. The facilities have a huge potential and the location is breathtaking!
