How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe hotel is ideally located on the lake with beautiful views. We stayed in the 3 bed room with the sofa converted to 3rd bed in the attic with lake views. Ideally, it is suited for 2 people with the use of a sofa as you have to bend a lot to get around with the sofa converted to bed. It's a little bit tight for 3 people. The room had a coffee machine, water, and apples. We stayed during the heatwave, and one big fan was provided, which wasn't really enough for 3 of us. The bathroom is rather small but clean. The breakfast was amazing, with lake views from the dining areas. You could eat outside under the grapevines or the main dining area with lake views. Tea, coffee, cappuccino, lattes, available. Excellent choice of breakfast for a 2 star hotel with a good variety of breads, cereals, croissants, yougarts, cheeses, juices, etc. The hospitality was good, though the lady serving tea, coffee was also covering the reception area so was super busy. I felt a bit sorry for her, but she worked like a trooper with a smile on her face throughout. It was EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY.
The hotel is well out of the way from the centre. 45 minutes out. But you can catch a train from the airport or Zurich HB to Meilen and catch a bus or walk to the hotel. It's 2 bus stops to the hotel and the bus drops you 1 building away from the hotel. It cost us 10 Swiss francs per person for a one-way journey, so it's worth getting the DAY card.. 9AM CARD I THINK.. from the airport or Zurich 24 hour card if you plan to go on boats n travel back n forth to city centre. The boat stop is in Meilen, where the train drops you. We were on the 3rd floor, so it was very tiring to go up n down. No lift. The gentleman did offer to take our bags, but we didn't want to trouble him, but it was a bit of a bother in the end. The location is out of the way and you have to go to Meilen for restaurants n shops. It's a 15-minute walk. The hotel restaurant and the restaurant opposite the hotel were both closed.

Verified reviewIt is a very nice, cozy hotel, on the lakeside, with a beautiful view from the window. The staff is friendly. The environment is ideal. It is a beautiful Swiss hotel, on the shores of Lake Zurich. Very comfortable and lovely.
One big minus was that the bathroom was a bit cramped, the water flowed very slowly. Another was that there were very few parking spaces. However, it is also possible to park your car in the municipal parking lot.

There were no nets at the windows. Although I opened the windows for a few minutes, a lot of mosquitoes attacked into the room. I had to close the windows although the weather was hot. I could not sleep because of the hot weather and the mosquitoes. And there was no air conditioner or cooling fan in the room.

Hot water took a long time to get warm. No usb or usbc chargers so make sure to bring adaptors if not local.

Verified reviewThe staff was friendly and the breakfast was nicely prepared with a good selection. The location right by the lake is beautiful and creates a pleasant atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the single room didn’t live up to the rest of the experience. It was very small and felt cramped, the mattress was uncomfortable, and there was a slanted ceiling directly above the sink, which made it difficult to use. Even with the window closed, the room smelled of food – likely due to a nearby kitchen ventilation system. On top the nearby street is quite noisy. Overall, the hotel has potential, but I wouldn't book this room again in its current state.

Verified reviewSuper nice location right on the water with really friendly staff. Restaurant had very good food and it was easy to park. Could just go for a swim outside the hotel and that was beautiful.
No A/C and very old standard in the room. Old and dirty carpet and there was black mould in the bathroom. Molton Brown soap dispensers that looked like they had been used for many years and just refilled and refilled. Was supposed to be green soap in one dispenser but it was different layers of green, blue and orange, quite nasty.
