Maybe more vegan, vegetarian options for breakfast, but that is a very specific request and not too important, as we adapted.

Location was great. Availability of parking space was very important. Pricing - making Switzerland affordable.

There is limited parking area near hotel so you might need to park on the other side which is bit far. Also there is a lot of walking from road to the hotel, can be difficult if you have heavy luggage.

1- Make sure to bring your own towels, otherwise renting one costs €5 for a medium-sized towel. 2 -If you're not very athletic, it's going to be difficult. The parking is located at the top of a hill, while the hotel is down below. In our case, we were traveling with our parents and couldn't carry the suitcases down to the room. We asked the staff if they can help with( chariot) to unload the luggage, but they refused and offered no assistance. On our last day, the owner confirmed that the staff could have helped us. 3- If you're not a fan of the old-style decor, bunk beds, and tiny rooms with a window that only opens halfway, or if you don't like small, enclosed spaces (if you're claustrophobic), this place might not be for you 4-During our stay, there was a school trip with kids who started screaming in the middle of the night (around 1:00 AM). 5- I had bought half a liter of milk and 4 eggs from local people, who advised us to cook them well before eating. I went to the reception to ask for a pot, but no one ever mentioned that there was a free gas kitchen available on Mondays. I mistakenly used a portable stove by the window, for which I apologized after the owner explained the seriousness of the situation. He also told me that we could have used the gas kitchen for free on Mondays — something the staff never informed us about or offered. 6-Unfortunately, the reception closes after 8:00 PM. My mother was cold during the night, and I couldn't find anyone to ask for an extra blanket. Luckily, our neighbor had a spare one and kindly gave it to us. 7- At the end of your stay, you have to remove the blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattress covers yourself, and leave the room on time. We didn’t know that check-out was at 10:00 AM (my sister who did reservation which is our fault) — I thought it was at 11:30 AM. So, at 9:55 AM, the staff told us to leave the room within 5 minutes!!!!

1- Its location was just perfect, right by the lake 2- The view was stunning . 3- Everything was very clean and peaceful. 4- checkin was quick and easy. 5- The owner was kind and explained things much better than the staff, in my opinion. 7- There are plenty of rooms, tables, and chairs available, as well as cutlery and a refrigerator for guests to use. 8- There is a swimming area in the lake for guests to swim.

Beds themselves in the older section were noisy to roll over on. There was a fan available for the 3rd floor room, but not 2nd floor.

The location right on the lake was priceless! Amazing to swim in and gorgeous views. Sunset and sunrise peeped behind the Alps. There are tons of common areas, several refrigerators for guests to use, books & games to borrow, and breakfast offered (15 ea). Laundry could be done by staff for a fee.

Lighting could have been better in my room. Under the eaves of the roof, the wall light and window were inadequate to properly illuminate the room. Not sure the advice to run behind the traffic through the roadworks to Vitznau would have pleased either H&S or legal!!

Good value for money and nice location, although major road reconstruction hindered access to Vitznau.

Based on reviews and the description we booked this hostel planning to cook meals and save money that way. Once we arrived, the staff informed us that we couldn’t use the kitchen because there was another group that had already booked it. We weren’t aware ahead of time of needing to book it. Also, we assumed the kayaks at the location were free and later found out that they cost money. We stayed two nights but had to switch rooms which was not the property’s fault only because we had to do 2 different bookings. The first room was on the west wing. The room was very stuffy and smelled strange when we arrived. The second night was upstairs in what they called the “Chalet.” It was charming, but we kept hitting our heads when passing through the doorway- the entrances to the room are really small- I am an average height and still hit my head. We arrived very late the night before and Intended on checking out as late as possible - and the housekeeping kept knocking and opening our door more than an hour before check out time ended because it seemed they were in a rush for us to leave. Also, it would be nice if they had quiet hours as the hallways were loud at all hours- early morning up until after 11:00 pm. The breakfast we felt was overpriced because they didn’t serve any warm items or croissants which most places in Europe do at their breakfasts.

The location was really good. It’s on a lake and close to restaurants and shopping. The staff were very laid back, friendly and helpful. There are a lot of different bathrooms and showering options throughout the property which is nice as it is quite large.

The wifi didn't really work in our room, but I had an esim with unlimited data which was fine. It is best not to assume the wifi will work for you and ensure you have an esim that will cover you, if wifi is important to you. It does say on booking.com that breakfast is included, it isn't, so that is something you will need to pay extra for if you'd like it. I didn't mind this as much, but the hotel is near the bottom of a steep slope path, so for those with mobility issues it may not be the best.

What a lovely and relaxing place to stay! The owner is incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome, we actually checked in at the wrong time and a day later than we were meant to as we missed the last bus to the hotel, but the owner was incredibly understanding and came and checked us in even though she wasn't on shift. We stayed in a chalet and it was great for sleeping in, we are both tall (I am 5"10 and my boyfriend is 6"3) and we both found it comfortable enough, and for the price it was great. We took the bus everywhere with the Swiss Rail Pass, and there is a bus stop literally 2 minutes walk away from the entrance of the hotel, and it can get you to the nearest train station so you can get into Luzern, Zurich etc.

Our friends had a four people room, this was the only room smelling a bit like moisture. Also, get ready to walk up and down the hill from the parking lot! Better not to have a very heavy luggage!

The location is absolutely fantastic! We were sitting outside by the lake until midnight! We stayed at the chalet, such a nice, romantic room. Just be aware that it is a wooden chalet, so you hear every step. The bathroom was in a lower floor, so, a longer walk at night. The kids stayed in a very big and modern 8-bed room and had a blast! We had a very nice dinner and breakfast at the hotel. We are already planning to make this a yearly get-together spot!!

We were in a tight room with a sloping ceiling and the two beds were lined up in a row instead of next to each other. Make it a children's room with a bunk bed or something like that instead of a couples room.

Breakfast was okay. The surroundings are beautiful and the views are astonishing. The walk up to the street was steep but are hosts gave us a lift.

There was a shared fridge to store your food, but we didn't see any kitchen facility that is open for the guests. If we were staying longer I think that would be necessary. I think beds could have been more comfortable.

I loved the location. It is on the lake side, so you can enjoy the lake non stop. We have a lake view from our room. I liked the showers and toilets, they were clean and accessible. There is a room where you can play games in the evening with family or have breakfast in the morning.

We booked a comfort room but somehow it was not found. The staff helped to find another room quickly, but the bunk beds with only one fan was to hot to sleep. The rooms need to be equipped with fans for both levels of bunk beds, or an air conditioner for hot humid summer days.

Location is perfect with kind and engaging staff members. Lots of sports and private beach for enjoying a good family time. Open kitchen helps also to cook and enjoy a nice breakfast/dinner. Good facility and clean space is a plus too.
