Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There is very little natural daylight in the room due to large metal shutters fixed to the outside of the building. Lack of places to eat nearby.
Clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly.

Nothing to report on the negative.
The check-in was first-rate, as was the check out and every greeting in-between. The team were very friendly and gave us our free travel tickets without having to ask for them. (If you don't know, you get free local travel on buses, trams, and trains for the duration of your Swiss visi when stayingin a hotel) The room was very spacious, and the outlook was nice and leafy. The hotel was quiet and felt very clean and well presented. It was a great find, and the location afforded us some great travel opportunities. (Side note, oh my goodness, the non local trains expensive!!!) The desk team gave us some great directions and told us about places to visit. Parking was super cheap and the cheapest I found in all the hotels I looked at. 13chf a day. The bathroom had a bath. It was a big space, and the bath was spacious also. It was an almost perfect little space to stay.

Spacious and clean apartment (with a little kitchenette) with all amenities one needs. Perfect for a family with 2 small children. Hotel is on a busy street, but that is expected if you want to be so close to Basel and the neighboring towns. We did not have breakfast so can't rate that. Staff was very friendly.

stains on the walls & on the sleeping sofa molton. set up for coffee/tea maker was a bit unpractical but nothing major.
spacious studio, comfy bed, nice bath, close to public transport (in basel centrum quickly and easy to reach the airport) and supermarkets, very nice staff!!

The staff were exceptionally helpful and gave excellent direction. The food was excellent, not too expensive, and had a variety of options from fruit and yoghurt to prepared meals of eggs and sausages.

The attitude of the staff was disappointing. The coffee machine in the room was tricky to use, and when I asked the receptionist for assistance and extra coffee pods, he told me they didn’t have any and suggested I get coffee from the bakery next door. He also implied that I didn’t know how to use the machine, which came across as dismissive rather than helpful. Overall, I expected more accommodating service from the hotel.
The room was spacious and clean, with Basel city center conveniently accessible from the hotel via tram 14.

The hotel didn't have airconditioning, it was 32 degrees outside which made the rooms very hot and stuffy

The room was very warm, and didn't seem to cool down even with the window open all night (in February...) The carpet in the main staircase is a little bit eye-watering. But both are minor niggles and personal preferences. Will definitely stay here, when I'm in Basel again.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was spacious. I especially loved the shower. The proximity to public transport was very helpful, especially since it was my first time in Basel. Hope to be back in the future.
