The Hostel is ideally situated just a short walk from Zug Railway Station. It is very welcoming and spacious. We had a room with our own bathroom and it was spotlessly clean. There was some noise from other guests (a school or college trip I imagine) but it wasn’t for long. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Lovely evening swim in the lake. I am an older guest (65) and I would highly recommend this hostel. We will be using hostels again in Switzerland.

Great position, clean and safe

We come in this hostel since 5 years because of the Zug triathlon. Since we need to do breakfast before the nominal time we ask to leave something to eat (like jelly or some slice of bred) for us: all the last years this service has been done without any problem, but this year was not possible because of the decision of the employee that was there. And additionally also the breakfast room has been locked so we could not have just a coffee from the machine (with the coins he gave us). Same for the shower, all the past time and years, on race day, we came back from the race and we could have a shower in the shared showers of the hostel, and this year all the showers have been locked to prevent us to get in, and was not possible to access (also for all other guests.) This was very bad, and I'll never come back there, it is a very pity since everything all the past years was perfect.

Near to centre. Excellent food centre (Frei Ruum) about 5 minutes walk away.

Friendly staff and a very good breakfast.

Location is good walk about 5mins from train station. I've stayed here 3 nights , the first night very lound with the kids running and close the door since 9.00-11.30 pm., Staffs are friendly. Breakfast is good.

They're not fill hand soap in toilet and only one toilet on the floor which have 10 rooms. No kitchen , they have microwave for guests.

The information on the zug card discount was only in German and the staffs don't let you know about it unless you ask. And even then, the explanation was very vague, they don't tell you about the discount code unless you ask AGAIN. They do give you the information once you repeatedly ask.

Really friendly and helpful staff. - Great location, close to the lake, there's a small train station just down the road and the main Zug station is about a 15 min walk away. The surroundings are really peaceful. - The free breakfast was tasty, loved the inclusion of meats/cheeses. - The hostel was really clean, it has simple facilities but everything you need for a short stay. Overall, great value for money!

The pillows were a bit lumpy and not too comfortable. - If you're staying at the same time as a school trip, it can get a little noisy.

Good resting zone outside. Standard breakfast.

The woman at the reception was the rudest person I met in Switzerland :) From the very greeting, I don't see any reason to talk with a guest like that. Passive aggressive tone because you were in the middle of celebration and had to open the reception 10 minutes earlier to check us in? We already told that we can wait and that's not a problem to us. Don't do us a favour and then act like we own you something. We come here to sleep, not to piss you off or hear that we should at least smile. Also the toilet door handle had some unknown substance on it. No soap in the bathroom.
