Travelers must know that it's not the easiest walk to the hotel, and if you don't want to spend on a cab or walk uphill, you will have to have come before the last buses in Grindelwald (which are made free by the hotel btw!). The pillows initially in our room were really soft, so if someone is particular about the kind of pillows they want, you need to inform them in advance.

The view from our room was absolutely magnificent - it made everything worth it. Breakfast had all the necessities, and the staff was extremely helpful throughout the stay. The room was comfortable and the mini-bar was free, which is definitely a first. We also had dinner on our final day, which was definitely some of the best food we have had in Switzerland. Check-in and check-out shuttle service was offered though, to the Grindelwald Bahnhof, which was appreciated! Shout out to Naomi for staying late at the desk for our late check-in when our train was delayed. Thank you for making our stay memorable

Our stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful — everything from the location to the service was perfect. The only small improvements we’d suggest are adding screens to the doors and windows to keep flies out, and updating the bed sheets for a fresher feel.

Long walk to the town...had to go up a steep hill. The busses stop working early. The room was very tight after the addition of 2 fold out beds. No air conditioning.

The staff was great! The staff spoke numerous languages. The breakfast had good variety. Lovely views from the balcony.

The climb from the Main Street to the hotel was pretty intense- especially with luggage, in the rain. The self-laundry : only one washer/dryer, so often not available.

Friendly staff, great breakfast (best waiter, Emiliano), wonderful restaurants, comfortable beds, amazing views.

Our room was on the west-facing side of the building and we received the hot sun from the afternoon through evening. This made the room hot and the deck nearly unusable after 4:00 pm. This was such a shame since the views were so wonderful and it was so quiet. If we stay here again, I would make sure to request a room facing east or south.

Amazing views from the restaurants and the rooms. Although it is a bit of a climb to the hotel from the main village, everything is so close, and it provides a sense of peace and quiet perched on the hillside just a little ways away from the bustling noise of Grindelwald. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, and left the car parked the entire time we were at this location.

I was a bit puzzled by the absence of a door in the bathroom area of my room

The view from the hotel was breathtaking from all sides. A special thanks to Mrs Brawand, the owner, for being everywhere at the same time and managing to make all guests feel special. The staff are very friendly, well trained and service oriented. I enjoyed the food in the restaurant.

Nothing, I was impressed at how super efficient the place is especially the warmth throughout.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, location is absolutely mind blowing, what a view! Our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children) enjoyed ourselves thoroughly here this weekend just before Christmas. We saw snowfall and the Mountain Views are breathtaking (sounds cliche but it’s true). There is a local bus outside of the hotel (124 at the time of writing) that goes in 2 directions, to Bodmi where there is a ski school (10mins) and to Grindelwald towards the main town/railway (also 10mins). Bus runs every half hour but stops around 7pm. The hotel give you a timetable and guides. You can walk to town to the local restaurants however be very careful it is steep and can be slippery in ice/snow! The rooms were spacious enough, warm, clean, well lit and have that Swiss chalet charm. Rooms might be sound proofed, unsure but once the front door is closed, I could not hear anything- even with my noisy kids in the corridor, so perfect for light sleepers. At the front of the hotel to the right is a ski room down a short stairwell where you can keep your equipment, skis and boots. The hotel partner with Buri sports (in town) where you can rent ski equipment, they can drop and pick up at the hotel if you ask kindly. This hotel is located 10mins drive away from the main railway station. We travelled from Basel to Grindelwald by train, which took just over 2.5hrs with one change over- so very easy to get to. Breakfast was good, continental, juices, tea and coffee provided. They do an evening menu every day. Not overcrowded and just right.
