How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Arriving at a hotel under renovation without being previously made aware before booking. This is a cheap shot. We were awaken by construction noise at 6am. It's the type of thing that breaks the confidence.

Walking into a building site and being told just 3 days before that there would be scaffolding (which we accepted) but instead it was a lot more than that. Work including drilling was going on even on our landing. Will be lovely when done but extremely expensive with such significant work and not relaxing at all. Hotel notified and apologised but said it was a ‘third party issue’.

Verified reviewSuperb hotel. Helpful staff, great room. The hotel was still under some renovation but we were very kindly informed about that beforehand. The shuttle bus from and to the station is a great amenity. A public bus stop is also close by. This part of town is quite distant from the centre but the bus makes it quite easy to get there. There was a good selection of food for breakfast. The Italian restaurant Caruso offers top notch food and even better service.

The location was far out of town, close to bunches of multi-colored apartment buildings. There was construction going on everywhere, not only at the hotel. The lobby was hip and cavernous, created to host large parties. Once you left the lobby you entered a completely different area with red carpet and a tiny, shabby elevator that could barely hold 2 people with their bags. The decor of the rooms, a mixture of local wood and green flocked-like wallpaper, looked like something a third grader would design. The hotel photos made it look much better.

The building was being refurbished and we had an old and tired room. The building had scaffolding outside and we had to get to the room via a building site corridor. Would be great to have known upfront.

It is currently under renovation and our room was in an area being renovated. We were excited for a sleep in, but there were pound tools being used from 8am outside our door.

The reception team was really not accommodating. No late evening reception staff.

Verified reviewIt is very modern and it looks like it was recently remodeled inside. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was outstanding.
The spa was still under construction, so was the outside of the hotel. Construction started at 8am. It was hard to find the entrance and parking was not that intuitive. I do understand tho that in order to be nicer, remodel is necessary.
