Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandThe bit confusing door and access arrangement - got locked out once when went to walk dog Sunday morning. The staff noticed quickly and let me in.
The staff were all extremely friendly, easy going and helpful. The room was clean, cozy and comfortable and nice decor - view on Allee and church nice. The location in the the pedestrian area of Winterthur is both practical and atmospheric - the pretty „Allee“ with trees, fountains and terraces in front was wonderful. They were uncomplicated about us bringing our dog. Having a movie theater in house felt decadent and we enjoyed the film and ease of having everything nearby. We had our pick of various tasty and cosy restaurants/cafes in the area, bus to train station at the end of the street, lots of little cool stores to peruse and access to museums made it all great for weekend away.

SwitzerlandI found pillows were a bit hard and high, thus not as comfortable as I’d like but this is rather personal opinion. Breakfast was decent, if you are looking for continental version. If you want a bit more, it might be worth to explore nearby cafes which there are plenty as the location is very central.
The location is superb however it might be slightly noisy in the evenings. The room was well equipped and I got a balcony, which I requested, so I could enjoy the view to inner yard and night sky. The staff was helpful, very nice breakfast lady. There is cinema below though I have not used it, had no time for. Nice restaurants are just the same street as hotel. The train station is only 10 min walk, very easy! Overall my stay was pleasurable and I certainly would like to come back to Winterthur.

United StatesThe breakfast I thought was a little underwhelming. The only egg option was soft boiling an egg yourself. Also, the toilet was not cleaned well and when I brought this to the attention of the desk person on checkout, with photos, she claimed it is because the building is so old. These were not rust stains as I was able to clean quite a bit off myself by simply using the scrubber. The desk person should have taken the comment with photos more seriously. The rest of the staff was excellent.
Great location and friendly staff

United StatesThere is no parking on site but the apps for parking areas in the city largely said the garages were closed on Sundays. It's not the fault of the hotel but something to be aware of because luggage has to be walked for at least a couple of city blocks.
The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions for dinner. The hotel is located in a car-free area which added to the ambiance.

SwitzerlandThere is a cinema inside of the hotel, with much of choice. The personal were very kind! The place is quite, even it was friday night. It s not far from the train station (10 mins of walk), and near the center. If I come back to Winterthur I will choose again!

United StatesNo AC and very hot. We couldn't leave the windows open due to the noise. It sounded like people were partying all night long.
Older accommodations but very clean. There was a beautiful bar and a nice outdoor sitting area all along the street. The outstanding feature was a movie theatre inside the motel with free entry if you stayed there.

GermanyWe had a room on the top floor under the roof, which could get rather warm in summer.
Very friendly and supportive staff, both at reception desk and at breakfast. Convenient location in the center of Winterthur: many points of interest within walking distance. Decent choice for breakfast. Very good value for money. Many places to eat nearby. There is a small movie theater in the same building (with shared reception desk), but we did not have any problems with noise.

SwitzerlandNo official parking at the hotel entrance, we somehow stopped by to unload the car, not sure it was appropriate. Room was a bit tight but clean and comfortable.
Ideal location right in the city center, but with windows to the garden and beautiful view our room was very quiet. Staff at the reception super friendly and helpful, they arranged our late arrival and advised about parking and dogs etc.

SwitzerlandUnfortunately the room was facing the street, so a bit of noise, mainly of people going back from restaurants/bars on their way home, but after midnight it was more or less quiet, apart from moving chairs or whatever somewhere above or below me in the hotel.
An unusual hotel that also houses two small cinemas. Lots of young people there, a nice bar. Check-in was very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, extremely friendly service. The room was nice, all I needed for an overnight stay. All - a great stay!

United KingdomWebsite said ketyle in roombut this was only on request (without cups etc which is usual in UK). However desoite staff misgivings kettle worked fine and did not trigger fire alarm. Slightly complicated arrangemt with keys, and noone on reception until 13.45 but I was then able to access room straight away.
Loved the location. Super comfortable bed and very quiet (with windows closed) despite busy restaurants on street below. Gorgeous view from 3rd floor. Fridge (minibar) in room useful Added bonus (discovered later) small lounge and terrasse with tea and coffee making facilities on 1st floor. And did I mention the in-house arthouse cinema? Would definitely stay again
