I came to rest and I slept with the balcony doors open for the forest air. On Saturday morning at 6:30!!!!!!! some idiot was using the leaf blower outside by the entrance doors. This woke me up!!!!!!!! This person needs to be reprimanded.

The staff were particularly kind and helpful...we arrived very late with 3 days and we had got lost and were flustered. The kind woman who received us was extremely patient and understanding! Apparently this hotel is placed in a very luxurious district where most people have cars, however for a tourist who wants to actually check Ticino, this location is very unpractical, getting up and down the hotel is a very hectic job, taking more than 400 steps up and down! Or u take a taxi and this will cost u a fortune. Providing a shuttle bus every couple of hours can solve this easily. 2- the room was spacious and clean but still very smelly! I even tried to wipe the floor myself but the smell wouldn’t go away. 3- There is no AC in the room, so opening the window might cause insects and flies to enter the room, there is no insects filter. 4- The pillows are too soft to actually do their function. They need to be changed. 5- the room decoration is a bit on the poor side. A couple of paintings would give it a soul.

My room was in the main building with a spectacular lake view, and that alone should justify the fairly higher price of the room. The breakfast was fair, although it is the same menu everyday without any change, but it was sufficient and the cheese was very delicious! The a la carta restaurant was very classy and the food was great especially with the view of the lake. A tip, u can go to the fourth floor and enjoy even a better view of the lake where it is very peaceful! The staff was very helpful and friendly and always cheerful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the historic Hotel Monte Verità in Ascona. Surrounded by beautiful lush vegetation and steeped in the rich history of the colony, the hotel offers a unique and serene atmosphere. Its proximity to Ascona allowed us to fully enjoy the vibrant Jazz Festival for three days, making our visit even more special. A perfect blend of nature, history, and culture, Hotel Monte Verità is an enchanting retreat that we highly recommend.

The area around the hotel was very busy from early morning - grass cutting, supply etc. Breakfast was average, for the high price of the accommodation we probably expected something more.

Accommodation is in a beautiful house from the Bauhaus era. The room was nice and clean with a large balcony with a magnificent view of the lake. The staff was nice.

We found centipede in the washroom.also small spiders were there . Probably this is common in the area since the hotel is between mountains.

Because of the park-like setting you will share this space with sociable Moskitos, so it's best to bring repellent. And of course, as others commented, the building structure is from the Bauhaus era, which was way before soundproofing became common practice. So bring your earbuds, just in case.

This is a place where you will enjoy a very special, positive energy, in a setting with history and culture. You will be spoiled by the restaurant's offering of mouth-watering vegetarian and other dishes and will have breakfast on the large terrace, overlooking the lake. If I had to create or manage a hotel, this is close to what it would look like 🙏
