Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThat I didn't stay another night!!
Honestly from start to finish our stay was excellent! We had questions months before our trip and the staff was very helpful and quick to respond. We stayed for two nights which I would recommend to anyone. It's historical and at the top of Mt Pilatus so its the only thing up there other than trails. You can only reach the hotel via cogwheel or gondola. We took the gondola up and cogwheel down, recommend to do both. Staff is superb and they all spoiled us as they spoke English. Not only did we have breakfast but we also had a 4 course dinner included. There were several menu options, I am pescatarian but often eat vegan and I had choices. The facility is very dog friendly which we LOVED. The mountain can get crowded during the day as hikers and tourists come up to visit. Many people I spoke with didn't even know you could stay up there. When the day tourists leave for the evening it is so peaceful. I haven't spoken about the views, all I can tell you is I teared up several different times with the pure beauty that was surrounding us. We were Blessed to have two good days where we could see. Obviously there is no guarantee with weather. There are a few webcams on their site which I recommend. Not a huge hiker but I did do the Dragon Trail (not scary!), another one that is a short climb up where you can watch the sunset but it was behind clouds that day and the last one that I'm not sure of the name but may be the Flower Trail (?). I know it eventually went to the church. You do take these trails at your own risk but the views are spectacular if you are one up for that adventure. There is not place here but I did video part of my hike that I will share a link to via google photos for anyone interested or curious. Have attached a few photos that I hope will help. We have recommended to several of our friends and I will tell you what I told them....GO, just do it and stay. It is well worth it! Hike link: https://photos.app.goo.

United KingdomBeware of the additional cost to reach the hotel. Unless you are an experienced mountaineer, it’s only accessible by train or cable car. This round trip is not cheap.
It’s location on top of Pilatus Kulm mountain. Once all non hotel guest left the summit at around 17:30, the top was left open to hotel guests to enjoy. The suite was beautiful offering fantastic views of the mountains in the distance. A truly spectacular hotel in a unique location. Once in a lifetime experience. I can only imagine what it would be like in the winter.

ChinaNothing, it was a wonderful stay!
We stayed for two nights and got to climbed the peaks and see alps in the distance which was breathtaking! The half board option is really ideal for us and helped us to secure nice table and food choice. They also provide us free cable or cogwheels tickets for the 2nd day that allowed us to decent to Kriens and Lucerne. We would highly recommended this place to stay for at least two nights if you love mountains and nature. The staffs are thoughtful and friendly.

United KingdomBreakfast was disappointing (particularly after dinner was so good!). I also thought the gondola was very expensive, especially considering there is no other option to get to the hotel - feels like that should be included in the cost. So many tourists who were not staying at the hotel made the gondola right up uncomfortably crowded.
Beautiful location, dinner was amazing. Very unique to take a gondola to your hotel- it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

United KingdomMaybe a staff member available in the ‘kulm’ part of the hotel, rather than just when you get off the gondola. But maybe that was because of the off peak time we went.
The most peaceful, beautiful place I’ve ever stayed! So impressed with the entire hotel, lovely staff, warm and comfortable room and so spacious! Delicious four course dinner and so many options for breakfast. Can’t wait to stay again!

SwitzerlandThe only minor drawback is the natural limitation during winter, as walking is restricted to designated areas on Mount Pilatus.
This hotel, perched atop Mount Pilatus, offers a truly unique and breathtaking experience. The scenery is unparalleled, and we were fortunate to enjoy sunny weather while the valley was blanketed in fog! The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. It's the perfect retreat to escape the hustle of the city for a night. Highly recommended!

CyprusFood is really terrible, dinner and breakfast included to the price which is good, however, I agree with other reviewers about the food. Dinner: you can choose options, but all of them are strange and not tasty, I got meat, but it was very raw and hard, in general I could not eat any of the dish. Breakfast: also bit better but still not a lot of choice.
Great location Beautiful views and interesting experience Fresh rooms with enough space Very cheerful and polite reception desk

SingaporeHot water was slightly inconsistent, but this is to be expected due to the location. Otherwise if you’re hoping for something more trail / hike heavy, or really want pictures of the mountains at different angles, don’t come around November as most viewpoints / activities are closed.
Very unique experience. You’re paying not just for the room but the view of the mountain as day turns to night and vice-versa, the food (noticeably better than at most Swiss hotels), and the idea of staying on a mountain for a night.

SingaporeMaybe dinner could be a quicker affair (or make it as a faster option for those who wish to) as we were really knackered from the hikes. I also do not see why the gondola up and down for hotel guest cannot be free?
Location is fantastic. The room was huge and views were great! Definitely worth the higher hotel rate. Breakfast was excellent and so was the quality of the dinner. Dinner was a slightly longer event but loved the food though the potato dumplings were plain and unnecessary as a side.
