How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI loved the location, literally 2 minutes behind the train station which is two stations away from interlaken ost but you can also take the trains to the mountains like Jungfraujoch and all the rest since the trains will pass through that station to get there anyway so you don’t have to go back to interlaken for connecting trains.
I didn’t like the fact that I did not hang the sign that I need my room tidied but someone still entered my room while I was away just to do the bed even though some of my stuff were spreaded on the bed and it just felt weird to know someone else touched them and moved them all aside just to make the bed and then put then back. It just felt like my privacy was invaded and I wasn’t expecting for that to happen. Also I checked out on Tuesday morning and they’re closed on Monday/Tuesday so they can’t hold your luggage but there’s a locker in the train station very near by so that’s fine.

Verified reviewVery well located and car parking space is very convenient. Good ensuite room. We were very well welcomed by the reception lady, but wish the rest of the staff was as nice and welcoming as her.
We felt the hotel was a bit loud at night. Also breakfast was alright but not the best.

Verified reviewStuffs were really helpful. Location is amazing.
Breakfast spread was rather ordinary. Shared bathroom after spending more than 200 chf per day for room doesn't make sense. More over the attic meant the room size was even smaller than advertised.

Verified reviewThe guest house was very charming with an old world feel. The breakfasts were adequate. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the outside space for drinking and relaxing. It was very convenient to Wilderswil train station, connecting with Interlaken and the mountain routes such as Lauterbrunnen.
One of our rooms did have a shared external bathroom, but we knew this on booking, so it is not a criticism, just an observation.

It was really bad and terrible experience I have ever had ever . The apartments smell really bad and when you just get out of the room you smell cooking downstairs and the smell is not acceptable really. And the floor of the apartment I tried once to walk without my sandal I felt it is sticky
Good day dear guest. we didn't like your stay with us. Information to other guests from us; we have room scent in the apartment so that we can minimize the bad rumors from the other guests. the floor is made of vinill and not sticky. and our apartment is in the house of our restaurant, so it can taste like kitchen smell outside the apartment. I don't find the reviews of this guest suitable

Verified reviewThe property is located close to the railway station (Wilderswil), making it very easily accessible. It’s also a convenient base for visiting Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the balcony was a nice addition to the stay.
I feel this place is overpriced, as the value mainly comes from its location. The room was very small and, although clean, it felt quite old.

Verified reviewStaff went out their way to be accommodating to our every need and want. Friendly and courteous to a fault. The hotel is lovely and quaint and located in a quiet and peaceful area only a short walk from the train station. The views from the balcony were expansive and we were treated to views of swarms of para-sailers over Interlochen throughout the afternoon and next morning. Loved our stay.
The property is somewhat dated but our perception was that it added to the overall charm. Just don't get hung up on the slightly frayed edges.

Verified reviewWonderful place pretty close to the train station. The shared bathroom looked recently renovated and was fairly spacious and clean. I liked that they assigned the breakfast places for the guests in the morning and the baby seat for our toddler was already at the table. Breakfast itself was basic but good! Very easy to get to and from since it is close to the Wilderswil train station. They also kept our luggage for the day while we hiked around, which was nice.
