Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandI didn’t particularly enjoy the behavior of some other guests during my stay. They didn’t seem very friendly or welcoming towards Asian visitors.
This hotel has a truly wonderful location. I loved how it is situated amidst ski slopes, mountains, and lingering snow. I truly felt that this hotel was well worth the stay. The view of the Matterhorn and the surrounding Alps was absolutely stunning. I was especially impressed by the outdoor hot tub and the beautiful photo spots. The hotel was also well-equipped with excellent facilities, including a restaurant, a café, and cozy lounge areas. I would love to return and stay here again. The staff were lovely, very welcoming, and always willing to help.

United StatesThe hotel is a bit isolated, you cannot go into town for dinner or in the evening. Dinner is included in the room price and was delicious every night, but if you want to go out at night this would not be a suitable hotel for you. We appreciated not having to organize dinner logistics every night by having it taken care of by the hotel.
The hotel is magnificently perched on the mountain facing the Matterhorn. The vistas are incredible and access to skiing could not be easier! The ski room has boot heaters that dry your boots every night and warms them for your feet in the morning. The spa is also beautiful with a sauna that looks out at the Matterhorn. Rooms are thoughtfully furnished and showers are incredibly hot. The hotel was clearly fully renovated but retains its historic charm. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Julie was particularly friendly and helpful, assisting us in organizing staff to help move our luggage and helping us extend our stay. All in all we had a terrific trip!

United KingdomOnly issue was there were only 2 options for dinner every night. For the most part wasn’t an issue, but there was one night when I didn’t like either of the options so I asked if I could order off the lunch menu, but was told I couldn’t, however on a previous night we had seen another table order off the lunch menu. So unsure why they could but we couldn’t.
The hotel is in an amazing location and is easy to get to on the gornergrat train. It’s great for skiing. The room was spacious and clean, the WiFi was good. The spa facilities were nice and modern and never too busy. All the staff were very nice and helpful.

TurkeyThe restaurant of the hotel was a major disappointment. The dinners included in the stay were far from satisfactory. What made it worse was finding out that ordering additional meals for an extra charge wasn’t possible. This left us in a difficult situation, as there were no other restaurants nearby in the middle of the mountain. You’re stuck with the hotel’s menu, and if you don’t like it or have allergies, there’s no alternative. Additionally, the long wait times during meal service were frustrating.
The hotel is in an ideal location for skiing, and its proximity to the slopes is a major advantage. Although our room was a bit small, it was sufficient for our needs and very clean. We especially appreciated the warm and friendly attitude of the reception staff. The spa was definitely a highlight, with the sauna and jacuzzi offering breathtaking views.

SwitzerlandOverall, this facility, with age dating back to the 1800s, was nice. While it may lack some modern amenities, everything was well-maintained and functional. The beds were fine, although my wife and I found the pillows a bit uncomfortable and consequently neither of us enjoyed a good nights sleep during our stay. I enjoyed dining at the restaurant and having our own dedicated table for the entire stay, and the food was good; however, the choices were limited each evening, primarily consisting of meat or vegetarian options. The servers were friendly, but the service was extremely slow, even during off-peak times. I also thought it was interesting that water (still or sparkling) and other non-alcoholic beverages were an extra charge at dinner, but not at breakfast. These are minor nitpicks, but they’re worth mentioning since you’re paying premium prices at this resort. Of course, the location and breathtaking views are the main draws.
The location was absolutely amazing with stunning views of the Matterhorn. It was ideally located for a ski-in/ski-out holiday. I liked that the hotel had a restaurant and spa facilities (even though we didn't use the spa), and the lodging included breakfast and dinner. There was a nice little lounge area with amazing views of the Matterhorn and the rest of the Zermatt valley. The staff were quite friendly.

The location is great as it’s truly ski in and ski out. And of course the view of the Matterhorn is unbeatable. I was able to watch both sunrise and sunset during my stay without any hassle having to find a viewpoint that requires efforts. The staff is amazing. I felt very welcome and was made at home. The facility includes both breakfast and dinner which I found very convenient and loving - since it’s up in the mountain, if these meals weren’t available or demanded a cost it’d feel quite unloving. Make sure you check the timetable to plan for your trips. It’s a 30 mins ride to and from Zermatt and it doesn’t run as frequent so definitely take the commute into account.

SwitzerlandGiven that there is nothing in the area, hotel imposes a breakfast and dinner menu in the price. While breakfast is very good, dinner menu is so-so and there is only a choice of meat/no-meat main dish (albeit portions are very generous, it must be said). And a bottle of water is 10CHF (!!), they tell you it's because they are running a local filtering facility. So, dinner is kind of a canteen experience, which is disappointing at this price level.
One of a kind place in the middle of a mountain. Nice chalet-y styled rooms, great spa, superb terrace directly facing Matterhorn. If you're ever in Switzerland, you must must see the Matterhorn. There is no other mountain like that. Also, the kindest and most helpful receptionist (Bravo Julie). There are tons of hiking trails with most spectacular views of surrounding mountains. And if you're lazy you can take the Gornergrat train up and down from/to Zermatt. In winter, it's ski in and out, of course, as the hotel is at 2550m elevation.

VenezuelaTap water was not free. I understand charging for bottled water, but water coming from the tap was charged. This is odd given that it is a place for hiking/physical activity at a high altitude, where hydration is important.

United StatesNothing really. The reception staff could have been a little more knowledgeable about sunrise/sunset time in the area when we inquired, but maybe it's me who has too high expectations (spoiled from Korean/Japanese hotel service).
The room design was very cute (way cuter than exterior of the hotel). Very clean and well managed facilities. Hot pool outside was awesome. Stunning views.
