I had the impression that we got a different room than what we've booked. Ar least it looked different than what the pictures promised. Breakfast was ok, but I expected more.

While the hotel has a nice spa area, almost all the facilities (steam room and finnish sauna) were not working properly. This was a big pity.

Very nice hotel infrastructure, with sport facilities, adjacent restaurants and the Schmuggler Bar. Decent breakfast, good value for the price. Bed was comfortable but the pillow too soft.

There was a beautiful spa area, but a lot of the facilities were not functioning properly.

The room was a good size and clean. The breakfast was very good and we ate amazingly tasty pizza in the restaurant. Overall very happy with our stay here.

The way breakfast was laid out was a little chaotic, but that's from a logistical point of view. The offers to eat were very geneours, fresh and tasty.

Quiet location, beautiful rooms, bathrooms exceptional, the shower is incredible.. the design of the hotel is wonderful, really gives you that swiss cottage vibe. our room had a balcony which was a great ad-on, a mini-fridge would have been nice but actually it had all we needed

The location is relatively isolated, especially outside the high season when almost all other restaurants and cafes nearby seem to be closed. Also, my room was right above/next to the bar, and one night there were drunk customers outside, talking and shouting right in front of my window, far past midnight, without any intervention by the bar staff (until I asked them to be quiet myself).

Beautiful mountain resort with nice spa. Gorgeous room fitted with wood, including a spacious and equally nicely designed bathroom. The spa was great and generous, too, even if located in a separate building down the road. I also liked the cosy bar.

Price for parking in the garage is a bit over the top, especially in the low season when the garage stands empty.

Wonderful place to stay, the beds were super comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. The personell was friendly, the food for breakfast and dinner was of great quality and I liked that they had a sauna/wellness available included in the price.

The Steam bath was out of order without any notice on the door. There was no one from the staff at the desk there to explain. I asked later on at the reception but they were not informed either. Only later on I learnt it was broken for 3 days so I could only use it for one day.

I loved the design of both interior and exterior. The wellness was absolutely stunning and very well constructed, allowing a split between the "naked" and "swimming suit" zones.

Room Category and Pictures We booked a room that was shown as a duplex in the official pictures. Upon arrival, we were informed by reception that although the pictures in the selected category do show a duplex room, only one such room exists in the entire hotel. We were assigned a different layout within the same category, which was not made clear during booking. Ski Shuttle Service Prior to booking, we called the hotel twice to confirm whether there was a hotel shuttle to the ski lift. Both times, we were told that a shuttle was available. Upon check-in, however, we were informed that the hotel does not provide its own shuttle, and that we needed to use the public post bus instead. Room Bedding The room was described as suitable for four people, with one bed and one sofa bed. The quality of the sofa bed was very poor and caused discomfort during sleep. In our opinion, this does not meet acceptable standards for guest bedding. Price vs. Star Rating While the hotel is listed as a 3-star property, the pricing was closer to that of a 4-star hotel. Guests may want to compare alternatives in a similar price range before booking. Restaurant Service and Quality We waited over an hour to be served our meals, which were unfortunately not to our taste. Staff informed us that many cooks and employees had recently left the hotel, which caused operational difficulties in the kitchen. Spa and Pool Access One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the advertised spa and pool facilities. However, we found that these amenities are located in a separate building approximately 200 meters away, across the road. This was not clearly stated and made the spa experience less convenient than expected. Summary Our experience at Hotel Sarain Active Mountain Resort did not fully meet expectations based on the booking information and communication prior to arrival. When we arrived, we received the keys from our room, however when we opened the doors from “our” room, we saw that somebody is already living there. It turned out that on the reception mistake was made and we should have different room. Afterwards we got a new keys, but could not open the door, so we went again back to reception and only afterwards we were able to get in the room. One evening we had a dinner in the restaurant with traditional Swiss cuisine, everything went fine. The other night we went to the main restaurant (where we upfront booked a table), but when we arrived to have a dinner we were told to wait at the bar or at table for two (but it was three of us), since our table is not ready since people there are still eating. We did not accept those option and asked then to go to other restaurant where we were before, since there were plenty of free tables. We ordered the food pretty quickly, but we were waiting for it for 50!!!! Minutes, which is totally unacceptable. Nobody warned us upfront the waiting time is so long. The food was not good neither.

The hotel is new and very nice. Room was spacious and comfortable, ideal for our group of three. There is an amazing spa area with two jacuzzi, two sauna, relax area, all is included in the stay. The hotel has also three different restaurants, each with different cuisine. There is also very nice bar just next to the hotel. We loved the restaurant where they serve traditional dishes from local canton, food was delicious!

we had to go back to front desk for parking access apartment was not close to the additionally booked room - contrary to what was confirmed when booked when we asked front desk why the rooms are on 1st and 3rd floor instead close together we got an out of context-reply which made no sense at all. breakfast was very ordinary. - not everything (fruits especially) was fresh as one could expect for such a pricey room. sure, we booked last minute in high season, but the hotel took advantage of the situation and overcharged massively.
