Some rooms on the back of the building, facing the Gornergrat rail line, hear early train departures and boarding announcements if your windows are open. Rooms facing the front entrance, or down valley, are much quieter.

Immediately across from a side entrance to the train station and yet it couldn't be in a quieter area. Never really saw much activity at reception or anywhere in general except at breakfast. Breakfast was great. Our rooms were beautiful.

Super little hotel next to the Gornergrat railway station. The location is great for everything - skiing, supermarket, shopping - with an excellent Indian restaurant just round the corner. We were surprised how little we noticed the trains with the sound proofing. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. We had a big balcony. Really good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Everything we needed!

Our room overlooked the Matterhorn, was very clean, comfortable and quiet even though it overlooked the GornerGrat cog trains. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the main Zermatt train station, near many restaurants of differing qualities, menus, and prices. Our choices of restaurants was vegetarian and we found several close by to Hotel Sarazena. The hotel is also near lots of shopping (including the COOP market) as well as many areas to safely walk around Zermatt and to enjoy the beautiful Matterhorn views. The staff were very accommodating for our questions on lifts and where to rent ski equipment. The breakfasts at Hotel Sarazena were outstanding! On our departure day, we left on a very early train, and they even packed for us a generous lunch, since we were not there to partake of their lovely breakfasts.

I would 100% stay here again. Travelling from Canada so making our money stretch was important. Great value, super clean and spacious rooms! It's right beside the Gornergrat tram and the bus stop (free) to the other lifts is just outside and a quick 5 min ride. They're close to Bayard where we rented and got 10% off with them. Having a hotel right by the train station was super convenient and Zermatt is such a small town so very easy to explore. Sauna (by reservation, just ask front desk) at the end of a ski day was a nice bonus. Good variety for breakfast.

Great hotel. Close to the central station to take the train to and from Zermatt. Great to take the Gornegrat train to the slopes. Great value for money, sauna on demand, good breakfast. A bit better than what would I expect from a 3 star hotel.
