Our room was in an old part of the hotel with an extremely slanting floor, which didn't really bother us, but should be mentioned. The flat screen TV was tiny (tucked away innovatively behind a small door) and located in such a way as to be impossible for 2 people to watch in comfort -- again, it didn't really bother us, but should be mentioned.

The hotel is a short walk from the Vista eye clinic (one of us was having cataract surgery) and from the Seebadi Pfaffikon, for swimming in Lake Zurich (for the other one). We had a nice fish dinner in the restaurant and a more relaxed tapas-style meal in the See Rose bar (good negronis!). Our room was spacious and the bathroom was modern. Parking was on the property and free. The hotel is also not very far from the train station. Breakfast was good. The view from our room and at breakfast was delightful. There is a nice walk nearby through a small park.

Creaky floors, which is very charming and common in such places but also makes me feel guilty when walking around at night. The opportunistic but cute birds in the outside dining area trying to steal one's breakfast.

The TV in the room was the size of an iPad and the room was a bit faded and perhaps in need of a refurbishment, particularly given the high price (for us). There was a party in the hotel, seemingly in a room right underneath ours, and it was very loud until after midnight. It would have been good to have been informed beforehand (with perhaps the possibility of choosing another room less affected).

The location was very nice, right on the lake and the hotel as a whole was pleasant. There was a simple but good continental breakfast included in the price. The staff were very pleasant. The room was big and the bed comfortable.

It was difficult to find the place in the dark, there are no signs for the railway station. The wifi password is not offered at the check-in, I had to ask about it in the restaurant.

The location is close to the railway station and the food in the restaurant is excellent!

The only downside was internet connection in the room, it did not work menawhile in the rest of the hotel was ok.

Parking could be an issue as there are insufficient spaces for the number of rooms available, plus other customers patronising the restaurant can also take up spaces. If you can’t get a Hotel spot then you have to pay between the hours of 09.00 - 21.00. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and we thought that the choice was quite limited, the food quality average and the prices very expensive, even for Switzerland, i.e. baked Perch with potatoes 47CHF, vegetarian Risotto 31CHF, Gin & Tonic 12.50CHF, a bottle of still water 8.90CHF, 0.5 Litre of Lager 5.90 CHF. The setting and ambience of the place made up for the hefty bill at the end. The only real downside for us was with the window open the noise from the train lines that run 250 metres behind the hotel. Our room number was 7, which is on the west side of the hotel overlooking a field of grass with the train lines beyond. Trains are back and forward every 15 minutes, day and night, so if you have the windows open and are a light sleeper you may want to bring some ear plugs with you. Rooms on the other elevations of the hotel may not experience this issue.

What makes this hotel is its setting right on the lake with its own boat jetty. There can’t be many hotels better situated than this, it is absolutely beautiful. Having your breakfast outside with the sun rising, or dinner in the evening with the sun setting is special and something we will not forget. There is also a walk along the lakeside which is a must while you are here. The hotel itself is quite basic, simple but functional furnishings, small but adequate bathrooms, open hanging rail, low wooden framed beds, but everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The staff were very helpful with the table service both efficient and informative.

The Hotel is fantastically situated on the edge of the lake was great for me on my visit for work. Lovely food for dinner and breakfast and I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to stay outside of the city.

One of the buildings is quite old, and the floor creaks when someone is walking in the room above.

The location is perfect, on the lake close to the town center and office buildings. There is a bar and a restaurant. The check-in and check-out processes were easy (Our flight was late, and we came after the official check-in time, they prepare everything and it was waiting on us).
