We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaCommunication with the managers was sometimes quite slow, the unit could do with a compendium detailing the amenities around the area. There are some great little cafes nearby, a supermarket just around the corner which we found on our last day. The Rhine embankment is great for afternoon drinks and watch the world go by.
The location of the apartment was excellent, as was the cleanliness and comfort. Highly recommend staying here!

United StatesThe stairwell and halls often smelled of smoke from another unit, which got into the bathroom in the apartment and made it smell strongly; I kept the inner door closed to keep the smell from getting into the apartment itself. A few things the host could do to improve this apartment and make it a star: 1) Have a fan already in place when the temperature is forecast to be high. (It was in the 90s when I was there and I requested a fan, which Mara brought, but I didn't have it until about 30 hours after I arrived, which made for a painful day and a half.) 2) Add a hair dryer, corkscrew, pants hangers, additional towels for multi-night stays, and maybe an iron. 3) Provide more info for guests. I needed to reach out to ask about the BaselCard (better if the host proactively contacts the guests to take care of this, since all overnight guests to Basel should get this) and to ask how to access the laundry. Would be great if there were a house manual with info about laundry, recycling, and even recommendations for nearby businesses.
The apartment was bright and airy, with plenty of room. I stayed for 5 days for a conference and it was great to have a kitchenette. I really liked the location, which was a short walk to the river, a 15-minute walk to the convention center, and accessible to all the major sights. The bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well. It was a lot less expensive than staying at the conference hotel. Prior to check-in, Mara was easy to reach via Booking.com. Check-in was pretty easy via the coded lockbox downstairs.

Excellent location, in a quiet neighborhood, nice cafe nearby, bus and tram nearby, grocery store nearby and of course the rhine river was one block down the street. gorgeous. Schweiz also had a washer/dryer which was ideal and it had a separate bathroom and kitchen unit. The host met us as soon as we arrived and brought over some extra towels and provided the Basel Card and gave us some pointers.
