How guest reviews work

Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThe place was really nice and conveniently located near the city center. It was just a 10 minute walk to the cable car station, which was very convenient. The apartment itself was super comfortable and well-equipped. I especially appreciated the coffee machine it was great to have coffee and some milk already provided in the fridge. The welcome wine was also a lovely surprise. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Caught out by different sockets in Switzerland to rest of Europe so opportunity to use an adapter would have been appreciated. Perhaps not suitable for less able as there were many stairs to climb. As with all of Switzerland VERY EXPENSIVE.

It was really complicated to get in contact with the host, since we came from a EU country, so phones are not working in Switzerland, and the contact was a number in England. The code to enter the building took some time to arrive via sms, and we never got an answer to the parking spot that was supposed to be “at the bottom of the wall in front of the accommodation “ so a couple points less for not getting back to us about the parking spot. Everything was electronically, so to enter the building you needed a code, same code for the apartment. We stayed from Friday to Sunday, and on Saturday the electronical device did not work so we were not able to lock our door. Thank god it was not the other way round and locked us out.

Our apartments are all located in the pedestrian-only old town, which is why we unfortunately cannot offer direct parking. This is clearly mentioned during the online check-in process. Once the online check-in is completed, all check-in details including access codes are automatically sent via email and Booking.com, and the code is also visible in the guest welcome app at the selected check-in time. We’re sorry to hear there was confusion – especially regarding parking and the door lock. We would’ve been happy to assist immediately if contacted via our emergency line or messaging system. No air conditioning & was extremely hot & with no screens on windows could not have them open. Had to wet a towel & put it on me to try & get some sleep. Issue with getting there as the directions on booking.com were not correct as they have multiple apartments. Caused me significant issues & the operators were of no assistance. Not value for money. I would not use them again.

Verified reviewPlenty of space for a family of four. Small touches were appreciated such as the sweets on the bed, the wine, decent coffee machine and first aid kit. Beds were comfortable. Nice vibe to the place. It was so lovely with the windows opening onto the old town streets with street musicians playing underneath and the Saturday morning market. A very charasmatic location that we felt we could continue to appreciate the town even when we were indoors. There is an Aldi within walking distance which was great for picking up food to prepare lunches and there were good storage containers in the press which was very helpful.
Consider the stairs, if you've any difficulty climbing. We were on the fourth floor. There is no AC in the listed building. We were ok, but it got very hot at night and couldn't open the large windows due to them opening on to the roof. Manageable in June, but we were thinking come July or August, it would be hard to sleep. Otherwise we really loved our stay.

The room was tiny and not 36m² as advertised. It was just slightly longer than the length of the bunk bed. Contrary to what was stated as available on their facilities, apart from toilet paper, there were no toiletries provided - no shower gel, shampoo, or tissues. I had to buy them myself. There was also no fan, as per advertised. The condition of the hallway, toilet, and shower rooms were abysmal. Parts of the walls had holes, probably from previous fittings that have been taken away. They were not painted and looked really old. The ceilings had cracks and looked dirty. The wallpaper on the hallway were peeling, and they looked like it had been there for decades as they were very old designs. Worst of all, there was no lock on the toilet door, and there was no way to lock it. There was an old big keyhole on the door, and someone had pinned an old cardboard from a tissue box or something, cut to cover the size of the keyhole, and pinned it over the hole. This is extremely bad and tasteless for a hotel, given that it's a shared toilet. I wrote to booking.com how to address this issue immediately. But I never got a reply. The shower room also looked old, and there was a written request on how to clean the shower in German (i had to get someone to translate to me). It was handwritten on the back of a white envelope and taped to the shower door. Both the toilet and bathroom looked really old. It was like current fittings were just added into these rooms, without the walls, ceilings, and hallway having been painted, repaired, or renovated. Both these ugly toilet and shower rooms were not shown in any of their pictures as advertised by the hotel - for obvious reasons. The tiny room, no toiletries, horrible toilet, and bathrooms were a gross misrepresentation of these 2 rooms on their website, which showed new and clean toilet n showers, perhaps for their other rooms, but definitely not for mine, on the 5th floor.

It is small, but the stated 36 m² reflect the total space available to you, in accordance with our official floor plan, which is also visible on our site. Regarding the amenities: shower gel and soap are provided in the room, not directly in the shared shower area. We’re sorry if this caused confusion. The ceiling fan is connected to the main light, and it can be controlled via a separate remote. This allows you to adjust the fan settings, dim the light, or turn it off completely – making it comfortable to use even at night. The toilet can, of course, be locked from the inside. We’re sorry if this was not immediately apparent. In terms of transparency, we offer every guest a 3D tour before booking. This gives a detailed and realistic view of the property and its layout. The image gallery also includes the official floor plan, so guests can see exactly what to expect. We value transparency highly and don’t aim to sugarcoat anything. Verified reviewThe apartment itself is great. The kitchen and bathroom are small but the dining and lounge are big. There are metal stairs to walk up to the mezzanine bedroom which didn’t worry us. Some lovely touches with a bottle of red for guests. A nice refuge to come home to after a busy day.
The check in process was horrendous. We requested an early check in and 30+ messages and emails over a period of 12 hours was totally exhausting. A blocked payment site and 20 CHF paid and finally it was organised. Quite frankly it was a joke!!!! 2 nd worst Check in experience of our lives!!! The electronic lock on the door instructions are incorrect. It is the exact opposite. We followed the instructions and came back to an open door at the apartment. Not happy On top of this, the managing company looks after many apartments in many buildings. The website says there is no elevator BUT the apartments are on different floors. Each apartment should be clear on which floor they are on , on the website. Ours was the 4th floor!! It was in the old town and further away than what the website showed. The stairs are worn and dodgy … so just a heads up for other travellers. We would never have booked a 4 th floor without an elevator deliberately!!!

I stayed for 2 nights. To be reminded in the beginning, on the door plain to see and read a reminder of empty the trash, close lights, windows, doors, clean dishes is excessive. Is it necessary to remind a solo traveler in their 60s. Felt like being treated like a toddler. Not sure if multiple reminders work with making one feel welcome. Also when I ask for someone to call they should. Having communication only available by phone for emergencies is not a good business model. Did not like no early check-in by an hour or 2 without a charge. The cracking on the stairs was quite loud. Hope you can reconsider how communication occurs. I have never heard in 60 years of traveling not having a live person to speak with.

Verified reviewGood location in town. Easily accessed from the train station. Great to have a coffee machine that also did boiling water for tea. The bed was really comfortable. A very nice touch was the bottle of wine provided.
The sofa bed in the lounge area was not very comfortable for general sitting.

Verified reviewThis property has the most comfortable beds in my 11 days of Swiss journey. We all slept so well. The kitchen is well equipped, with all kinds of pots, pans, oil and seasonings.
The stairs are steep and not friendly for elders. At first, we couldn’t find the switch for the lights, thus the staircase is dark and creepy.
