How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A nice Old swiss building in the centre of Konitz. The "Bern welcome" App free travel makes it very easy to travel in Bern, only 12-15 mins to Town centre. A good base if travelling around the Berner Oberland.

Light walls. One hears the people on the other room a bit too well.
Welcoming staff. The building is quite lovely. I really liked the rustic and authentic decoration in the rooms. Bed is comfortable.

Average breakfast, just a few free parking spots, we were lucky to get the last free spot when we arrived in the evening.
Good location, Bern city center easily accessible by public transport. We received free travel card which was very convenient. Shopping possibilities and restaurants in vicinity. Rooms traditionally furnished.

The room was big and spacious . We had bedroom and huge living room . Rooms are decorated in a traditional way giving the feeling of the history and the house its self . shops and bus station very close .

Overall, nothing was bad. The breakfast was quite poor, and the overall cost for 2 days was pretty high... but this is normal in Switzerland.
The parking and the position. In front of the hotel there are opportunities for shopping and the station is easy to reach. On top, the hotel is offering a ticket included with transport for 2 areas in Bern. That's amazing.

The breakfast was not so rich and the bathroom was kind of small.
The rooms were big enough, staff was pleasant and the location was good, just 10 mins from the Stadium or Bern City Centre. There are also some free parkings, otherwise there are also paid parking spots.

The room is a bit old-fashioned but in a perfect shape! On the day of check-out the cleaning staff came to the room earlier than 10am but it was the only disappointment.
A cozy inn in the heart of Köniz, in the suburb of Bern. The staff was kind, the breakfast was tasty, the room was clean and super comfortable. The location is great, you can reach Bern downtown in less than 15 mins. Excellent value for money.

The stuff was not friendly at all.
I used to stay in this very hotel 12 years ago, and nothing changed since then. Rooms are fine, clean, tiny. Location is fine, it's the best value for money in Bern cause the city center is 15 min by bus and the prices there are crazy. Everything you need is right by the hotel, supermarkets, farmacies, train and bus stops. Koeniz is a lovely location to stay.

The door of the bathroom should open outward, not inward.

The staff was professional but could have been a bit friendlier. Some darker bread at breakfast would have been nice.
The bed was comfortable, and the room had all that we needed, including the option to make coffee or tea. It was nicely quiet so we could sleep well. Free public transport and the buses go very regularly. There are a few free parking spots at the hotel if you are one of the first ones to arrive.

The wifi was a bit spotty and kept cutting out.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good food, unique and interesting decor, very easy to get to the city centre, and close to some nice forest walks.

Extremely expensive. Hotel Restaurant was very expensive and food unedible. Pillows were horrible. No air con.
