My stay was very comfortable with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were great. The location was outstanding. The view from my room was the highlight of my stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

The view was good

Amazing location with incredible views. Surrounded by mountains, church, shops and restaurants. Hotel is very well maintained and decorated. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location walking distance to cable car to lake Oeschinensee hike. Room comfortable, breakfast delicious. Best hotel in our 2 weeks in Switzerland

Loved it all

Food was outstanding, view is awesome, owners were welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, room was comfortable with lovely balcony and views, sauna was great way to end the day. Would definitely stay here again.

Wow, what a view! I could easily stay in this hotel for a week and just sit on the balcony and enjoy the amazing view. Unreal. Breakfast was pretty good, especially once we discovered that you could request scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff was very friendly. Plenty of (free!) parking available.

The shower is atrocious. Not only do you have to stand in a bathtub, it's also so low that I couldn't even stand under the shower. I hated everything about it. Then there's some noise complaints: for example when your upstairs neighbors take a shower or flush the toilet that's very loud in the room. The beds weren't that comfortable and we really hated the provided pillows (one extremely thin, the other way too thick and hard), but luckily you can request a medium pillow which saved the final night. Breakfast has limited choice for lactose-intolerant people, and it's very weird that the note about being able to request scrambled eggs and bacon, isn't located at the actual buffet, but instead hidden in the back of some daily booklet on the table (with the weather and a joke of the day) that we never read. The room didn't have a mini fridge nor airco, and the hairdryer is extremely annoying to use: you can only turn it on for one minute and then you have to let it cool down before you can use it for another minute. Still, with all of this said, I would absolutely come here again, the view is that good.

This hotel was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good. The room was very nice, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The room also had a balcony with an incredible view. The hotel overall is great. Highly recommend!

We took a short break at the Bernerhof Hotel in Kandersteg on the recommendation of a friend and we are so glad we did. The hotel is family-run and it is so relaxed and welcoming, and the food was amazing, thank you so much Claudia and Gerhard. The room was lovely and overlooked the meadow in front of the hotel. We took the cable car to Oeschinensee and another to Allmenalp. We also took the bus to the Nature Park at Blausee, and another to Frutigen to cross the Hohstalden Suspension Bridge. We took the train to Bern and also to Spiez, which is like being in the Mediterranean. A special mention for Roger at the Hotel Belvedere in Spiez who made our brief visit so special, with wine and cake on the balcony overlooking the lake; you are a true gentleman. Thank you

Everything you think you know about Switzerland is true. It is clean and beautiful and the skies are blue. We didn't want to leave!

Good location with owners that run the place.

The owners are friendly and warm and the window in the showers has to be the best view ever while having a shower

This hotel is in a good location for our purposes. The owners are so friendly and welcoming that we feel as if they have become our friends. We elected half board and loved our meals. They were amazing! We also enjoyed the afternoon tea and pastries they offered. My husband appreciated being able to read several of the books available to guests. We will definitely return here the next time we visit Kandersteg.

It was fairly warm while we were here, and we would have appreciated a lighter weight blanket for the bed, rather than the heavy comforter which was on it. This, however, may be our fault as we didn’t think to ask for a lighter weight option.

Lovely family run traditional Swiss Hotel. Great restaurant with very good service and food. Beautiful views of the mountains. We really enjoyed everything about our stay.

Location was amazing. The Mountain Views were Breathtaking. Having the Train Station within Walking Distance was a Blessing!

Wish the Room had a Refrigerator to keep Liquids Cold.

Very professional friendly staff. Large bedroom with fantastic Mountain View. Comfortable bed . Large bathroom. TV with English news channel. Self service coffee , tea and cake from an urn in the afternoon and evening. A comprehensive self service breakfast , with optional scrambled egg and bacon . Four course evening meal exceptional and excellent value. Close to the cable car to Lake Oeschinensee., and 15 minute walk to the aerial Allmenalp mountain cable car.

We absolutely loved our one night stay! It was super clean and in a great location. The owners made us very welcome and served the best meals. We came in after many hours of traveling from the USA and the dinner we had reservations for was AMAZING! We would definitely stay here again if in this area. 100% recommend!
