How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location and review were breathtaking. Short walk into town downhill, although a bit more challenging on the return trip. Accomodation was great.
Was not provided the laundry token so couldn’t use the washing machine however the staff located in Grindelwald were great and I provided me with one when I raised it.

Verified reviewThe view
Yes the view is good. BUT there’s a major problem. The first day we check in, the staff didn’t give us the laundry key and didn’t tell us that this is need to collect separately despite having a laundry manual in the living hall. When i messaged them they say it is not included in the price and require us to go back to the check in counter next day which is a 5 minutes drive which is trouble for us. And the second day they are closed so we need to wait till 3rd day only can do our laundry. The second major issue is the hot water which is the most important one. During the 2nd night around 10pm and it’s a very cold weather out there, there’s no hot water when we wanna shower . We looked up the manual guide and we did everything the manual said but still can’t help. Ended up shower with really cold water which is ridiculous. Next day we went to the counter to make a complaint and the first thing they say is that we used too much hot water, so there’s no hot water left which is ridiculous. We went out whole day and comes back at night just to take a hot shower but ended up no hot water and you’re telling us that we used too much water. The hot water tank is shared with other people and you blaming us for the problem and tell us “We’re sorry, nothing that we can do”. This is really unfair to us. It means that if other ppl used up the hot water during the day, we will have no hot water for the rest of the day .If the hot water is so limited why border to put a bathtub there? Theres not even enough hot water just to shower. Which comes the 3rd issue, their attitude and services. I went to the counter to resolve a problem, not to hear your blame. I told the staff at the counter you should solve the issue. Not put the blame back to us. The staff was like “Sorry, that’s all I can say”. It feels like they didn’t even want to solve the problem. If I had the chance to give 0 stars, I would . This is the last time I’ll be staying in this chalet.
Thank you for your feedback, Joey. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the view. However, we regret to hear the inconvenience caused during your stay. The hot water system is described in the guest information and operates on a night-time heating cycle. If more hot water is needed during the day, guests can switch the setting to boost mode, as explained in the apartment manual. We are sorry this wasn’t clear enough in your case. Your comments on the communication with our staff are also noted and will be reviewed with the local team. Your Interhome Team

Verified reviewThe view is lovely and the front verandah/deck is a nice size to enjoy a drink or meal and the lovely view and to keep open to air out the apartment.
Two of the bedrooms and their bathroom were unusable due to the stench of saturated cigarette smoke from the neighbour below who is a chronic smoker. We notified the agency and they are aware of it - but took no action to reimburse. The stink from the chronic cigarette smoker exudes up through the building floors, walls and ventilation system and chokes the apartment - saturating all bedding and clothes with the smoke stench. Our allergies and asthma became severely antagonised - not the Alpine experience we thought we would get. So for a three bedroom apartment - two of the bedrooms were not usable, on the first night one of our party awoke having and anaphylactic breathing attack. We ended up sleeping on the lounge suites. The downstairs neighbours can be noisy at night when they arrive home drunk at 1am.

Guest bathroom smelled extremely bad, we had to avoid that area of the apartment due to the strong smell of sewage in there.

Verified reviewThe chalet is very nice and clean as new. The balcony has a stunningview. Everything is available in the chalet and more than what is required There is a stream at the chalet that you can see from the balcony and hear the murmur of water while you are enjoying a cup of coffee
The issue was no hot water after 7pm, at this weather hot water is important.
