How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA Truly Wonderful Stay at the Grächerhof – A Hidden Gem with Heart I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Grächerhof Hotel in Grächen, and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the most welcoming and enjoyable hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. What truly made it special was the new family running the hotel, led by the incredibly kind and attentive Marco. Marco and his family have only recently taken over the hotel, and they are clearly pouring their hearts into making it a warm, inviting, and beautifully run place to stay. Any reviews written before their ownership simply don’t reflect the current charm, care, and genuine hospitality that now define the Grächerhof. From the moment we arrived, Marco made us feel more like guests in his home than customers in a hotel. He was always ready with a smile, helpful local tips, and a sincere interest in making sure everything was perfect. The personal touches throughout the stay — from the warm welcome to the thoughtful conversations and service — made it clear that this is a family deeply committed to providing something special. The hotel itself is lovely: cozy, clean, and beautifully situated in the heart of Grächen, with easy access to hiking trails and the town’s scenic charm. The rooms are comfortable and well cared for, and the common areas retain a charming alpine character that perfectly suits the surroundings. It’s rare to find a place where genuine hospitality shines through so clearly, but the Grächerhof is one of those places. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, heartwarming stay in the mountains. You’ll leave not just with good memories of Grächen, but with a real appreciation for the kind people who made your trip special. Thank you to Marco and the whole family — We will definitely be back
What a review! You almost made us blush! It was such a pleasure having you with us. We still think back fondly on your impressive trek from Saas-Fee to Grächen (seriously, hats off!), our cozy whisky chats at the bar (especially the local ones!), and of course, planning the route to Zermatt together. Moments like these are what make our days here truly special. And let’s be honest — the spontaneous bursts of Italian brought a Mediterranean vibe to the Grächerhof that we absolutely loved 😉 Thank you for your kind words, and for truly seeing what we’re trying to create here: a place with heart, warmth, and a generous splash of mountain air. We hope to welcome you back soon — your chair (and your glass) is already waiting! Warm regards, Marco & family

Verified reviewWe want to express our immense gratitude to the entire staff at the Lifestyle & Spa Hotel Grächerhof for making our stay truly unforgettable. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. A special thank you to Heidi (the receptionist) for your warm welcome, fantastic recommendations on things to do in Grächen, providing all the useful information about the property, making a fondue dinner reservation for us, and surprising us with a welcome drink. Thank you, Pedro (the waiter), for your stellar service at the restaurant and for making us feel so comfortable. Once again, we appreciate the amazing coffee we had just before we left! 😉 Please also extend our gratitude to the other waitress (the one with black hair) for being so thoughtful and even setting up the music for us during our anniversary dinner. Thanks to the Chef for making the best omelet I have ever had for breakfast! Thank you, Magda (housekeeping), for your immediate help in providing the items we needed. Thank you, Simon (the owner), for taking the time to check in with us to ensure everything was to our liking, for the lovely conversation, and for your very thoughtful surprise gesture to honor our wedding anniversary. (And again, thanks to Pedro for going the extra mile to deliver it!) The property is new, modern, and cozy, making it a perfect choice for a romantic getaway, a ski trip, or a family vacation. It has the best spa I have ever seen in a three-star hotel, featuring a bio sauna, dry sauna (95°C), steam sauna, jacuzzi, foot massage station, and an incredibly comfortable and peaceful relaxation area with fresh fruit, spa water, and high-quality tea. The location is fantastic-literally right next to the bus station and the cable car to Hannigalp. They even provide special snow-walking shoes for free, and for skiers, there is a designated area to store ski equipment. We are so glad we found and booked this property. We highly recommend it!
Nothing. We highly recommend not only this hotel but also Grächen itself—it is truly a hidden gem in the Swiss Alps! One more thing (due to limited space, it didn’t fit into the "What We Liked" section): The restaurant serves, among other things, delicious Valaisan cheese fondue with plenty of pickles, potatoes, and bread, which we loved, as well as fantastic-looking Italian cuisine. In the morning, they offer a top-quality buffet breakfast.

Almost zero parking, especially for the winter holidays the space was super limited

Verified reviewThe rooms are very clean, cozy and have all the amenities and comfortable. Very well managed temperature and the beds are nice too. We had a lovely balcony looking outside. Breakfast is very nice too... and the staff is the best you will ever find in Switzerland. Ask for Nadeem, Maya and Heidi. They are lovely!
Nothing I can think of. It was the best stay.

Verified reviewExcellent breakfast. Lovely helpful staff, especially the guy who checked us in. Comfy rooms and nice soap, shower gel etc. decent coffee machine in the room too
Bit disappointed the spa wasn’t open in the morning meaning we actually didn’t use it as we only spent one evening there. Not the fault of the hotel either but the night we stayed there was some sort of street party with a very noisy singer who sang until just after 1am! Could have done without that!

Verified reviewThis was one of the best stays we’ve ever had, everything was great from our arrival. We were welcomed with a glass of wine in the sofa by the chimney during check in. We then stayed for excellent dinner at their restaurant La Torre - delicious pasta and tiramisù. Breakfast was abundant, with homemade cake, warm crunchy bread, and a cook who prepared eggs on the spot - would recommend the omelette. Staff members were really friendly! After a day of skiing in Zermatt, we could relax at the spa area, which was quiet and very well equipped (2 dry saunas, 1 humid sauna, jacuzzis, showers, an area for reading). Wish we would have stayed longer at this great hotel! Promised ourselves we will be back soon - grazie, merci for the stay Grächerhof!

Verified reviewIt was lovely to be welcomed by a drink offered by the hotel, nice touch. The spa is great, very intimate, clean, brand new and not busy at all (and we stayed there on a Saturday). There are lots of facilities. Staff was really friendly and warm. Breakfast is gorgeous, best omelette ever! Room was nice a spacious and had such a lovely smell.
The only thing is that parking is not guaranteed. We had to park in the city car park, which really close by, so not a big deal but it meant that we had to pay 15 CHF extra.

Verified reviewBathrooms were way too small, not as pictured and almost felt as bathrooms in cruise ships cabins. Breakfast very basic, not many options, although the coffee was great!! View from our room excellent.
Bathrooms could’ve been bigger, very uncomfortable to take a shower and sinks were tiny - hardly any room to put stuff.
