There is no supermarket or kiosk nearby. There were also no body washes or soaps in the bathroom.

The bus stop is right near the hotel. Plenty of opportunities for site seeing and hiking trails. The rooms were fine. Breakfast was okay.

A rustic and authentic stay in a breathtaking location, with kind staff and great access to nature. Comfort is limited, but if you value setting and simplicity over modern facilities, this place will suit you well. Free parking is available right in front of the property, which is very convenient. The ground-floor restaurant has a lovely view of the valley and serves hearty meals at reasonable prices. The Wi-Fi worked surprisingly well given the remote location.

I really liked the location - it was very convenient. The view from the window was stunning, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Although the room was small, it was cozy and had everything I needed. Most importantly, everything was spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was very minimal, but espresso and cappuccino was good. Bathroom is a older and not pristine, if a little shower caulking mold bothers you. Its a rustic stay, but we loved it.

Location, location, location. Sitting on our balcony in the back of Lauterbrunnen valley. The restaurant at the hotel was great for dinner - but not open late so plan ahead. Fondue! Quieter and less tourist crazy than Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken. Good value compared to the rest of the area.

The bed mattress was a little less thick and comfortable than I like but after a day hiking it doesn’t matter much and I slept great. I prefer a private bathroom but the common bathroom was very clean and available when needed. And the price reflects the shared bathroom.

Can’t beat this location in the entire Lauterbrunnen Valley for a great starting and ending point for hikes into the UNESCO area or to take the Schilthorn Cable Car, and out of the hustle and bustle of Lauterbrunnen. The restaurant is a welcome spot in a beautiful setting to have a refreshing drink and a meal after a day hiking.

They really need a bug zapper in that restaurant. There are lots of flies.

This is a decent place with nice rooms, a nice restaurant and good food. And for the price, given where it is... it's a steal. Stechelberg is at the far end of the Lauterbrunnen valley. Not many tourists get down this far. The views are unbelievably. You're about four minutes walk from a couple of trails up into the mountains. About 10-15 minutes walk from the cable car up to Murren. Trust me you won't regret it.

Very cold room when I checked-in, than I could warm it up switching on the radiator. Price a bit high, but maybe was in concomitance of Ski World Cup in Wengen.

The building needs an update. They need to provide breakfast. We thought it included breakfast but were told it did not because there was a kitchen. The kitchen was outdated, did not include a few essentials, like coffee for the mornings, and there was nowhere near the hotel to buy food to cook. But the hotel is likable, the people were very understanding and kind. The place was clean. It's just that it was not a very well kept hotel. A bit neglected.

The tranquility and character of the location. It is an ideal location from which to explore the valley and mountain villages.
