It would be nice to have insect screens on the windows so we can keep them open to keep the place cool overnight, otherwise either bugs got in or it was a bit hot.

It felt so homey and cute and comfortable, I instantly felt at peace. And the kitchen was a really nice space to use. The host was also very helpful with pre-arrival messages.

The short ceilings and cramped beds. I bumped my head so many times.....Also, the bath has very little standing room in it.

The place is at walk-able distance from the train station Urnasch. It is totally value for money. Have awesome views even from the room. The host Tamara is super friendly. Guests are allowed to use the kitchen, refrigerator, large cozy living room and dining hall. .

Great location, convenient check in process, and amazing staff. During the last day of my stay I needed urgent care due to an allergic reaction and the host helped to walk me to a doctor asap and helped with translating. They also allowed us to check out late. Very friendly and less than a 5 min walk from the train station.

Loved this comfortable and quiet stay in Urnasch. It was perfectly cozy and a great starting/end point for my hikes in the Appenzell area (only 30 mins away by train). Jessica was also very chill and friendly, she gave me some extra rosti she'd made too. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stay here again.

A spacious and cozy apartment at the second floor with a nice living room and a kitchen equipped with more than everything one needs, including herbs, condiments , coffee, etc. Jessica is a wonderful host. I enjoyed the company of the cats too. This is a special place, it like staying with friends.

The nearby road can be noisy. And warning if you are tall: some doors are like 180 cm high and the ceiling is not much higher.

Very traditional style, it feels more like "at the inhabitant's place" than a hostel. Right in the center, close to the train station and to the Coop supermarket (open until 19:00).

As you may see in other comments the church near by rings the bells quite often and loudly but, it helps you to get up in the morning 😅 and also you can always use the ear plugs which is quite useful in hostels anyway. So wasn’t really a problem for me!

This hostel is perfect as you have everything you need, everything is very well organized, clean, comfortable and cozy. You have the impression to stay at an Airbnb or friends’ house and don’t want to leave. Location is practical as it’s not far from Zurich with airport and international trains as well as from all the places where the hiking tracks start.

I may have gotten a little lucky as my visit was in low season, by chance, I had the entire place to myself which was magnificent. But even if it had been full, it’s a great place to stay. Has everything you need to recharge and unwind.

Very comfortable bed with soft and clean linens. The owner is artistic dealing with her artworks, home design, hairstyle with passion. She have 3 cute Sphinx cats. It is very relaxing as we can hear the cow bells in the silent night. We feel like home chilling with a cup of hot tea and coffee:)
