Had an awesome time, staff were very friendly and you have the best cocktails on the island.

Main gardens looking a little underwhelming. Ponds not in functional order and the ones that had water were very dirty and not maintained. Hotel looked a little tired and could do with a bit of a makeover. Courtyard gardens needed weeding. Would love a pool scoop so we could get leaves out of the pool before jumping in.

Location was great. Very close to the local car and bike rentals. Loved having our own private courtyard and pool.

The entrance let's the place down & the dim reception area. Overall, it's a bit run down, especially the pool area. However the staff are friendly & really looked after us.

The Crown Resort is in a great setting & you can snorkel from the beach. Breakfasts were plentiful & a lovely way to start the day. Villas are great as they are stand-alone units, spacious, quiet & private. Free laundry to use was great too.

No hot water for 4 nights. I assumed on solar. Asked in reception and burner broken but they had not let us know. Booked into 'roast' night..... Not a roast. No roast meat or veges at all. Very disappointed.

friendly staff. Breakfast good. Great setting. Pool great

It was a bit old fashioned I would say, lack of maintenance in the pool area and the beach beds, also the room was not amazing. We stayed in another 3 different hotels in Rarotonga that were much better value for money.

Nice hotel, the pool was big. Nice breakfast with delicious waffles. Good sunset spot, Close to the airport for an early morning flight.

Some facilities we were unaware of or not explained to us by reception staff. Reception & restaurant staff require more training. Staff need to be more aware of guests, say hello when passing, or not be on their mobile phones at the reception desk.

Villa was clean & spacious. Having our own pool was great. The bus stop is out the front of the resort.

Little bit outdated and run down. Not the standard you would expect for a crown facility. Funny sweated smell, we thought it came from the old dirty ponds on-site. The showers water pressure kept going from slow to fast every 2 seconds.

Spacious rooms. Close to the beach. Rooms are not attached to other rooms, so I can't hear other guests.

The cutlery in the villa was very sparing, could do with a few more utensils and dishes.

Breakfast was good, plenty of options, room amenities were okay, the decor and furniture is dated but everything was clean and tidy, staff were wonderful, always a smile and a greeting. Happy Hour cocktails a big hit! Lot of work being undertaken to update and improve the resort as a whole.

Villa was right next to restaurant so was a bit noisy. They put music on loudly at 6.30am which wasn’t ideal when wanting to catch up on sleep. Lounge suite in villa was tiny and uncomfortable. I think aesthetics were thought of more than comfort.

Food was great. Beautiful pool, clean facilities and villa.

Not really "didn't like" just two comments. The floor tiles in our room could do with a thorough hot mop followed by a good buff. The housekeeping staff did come into the room at random hours during the day but were very quick in and out.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The resort itself is well set out - some of the pools were empty, due to a dry period and lack of water overall in Rarotonga. We had our own pool which was well used. Made use of the free laundry facilities. Our room was comfortable and spacious.

The impression from the booking site was that a swimming beach was nearby. I believe based on what we saw that the better swimming beach was around 15 minutes drive away. The beach at our resort was sandy but there were many rocks throughout the water. Snorkeling at high tide may have been OK if you're a confident swimmer. More about Rarotonga than the resort, but the island needs more transport options. A bus every hour in one direction with another at the same frequency going the other way is not nearly enough for the number of visitors. Make sure you book your hire car before you arrive and be prepared for a minimum hire period of 3 days. Taxis start at $20 pp unless you have a travelling party. The 4WD Safari Tour is expensive for 2 .5 hours without lunch. Better options exist.

Food at the resort was quite good. The buffet on the cultural dance night was excellent. However, the Sunday evening roast that we experienced was not that good. Breakfast buffet included hot food so that was OK. Room was a good size but the villas do need a bit of a face lift. You need to explore other nearby eating places to get variety of food. Staff were very friendly. Lagoon cruise by Koka was very good. Book early as it is popular. Also book the Progressive Dinner night before you arrive as it is extremely popular. Pool and surrounds was very good.
