OK, this may not be for everyone, but we just loved the fresh ocean air wafting through the room, the sound of the waves on the reef, the chickens (even the roosters!), the cats (on the bed!), listening to the rain on the roof, the outdoors shower and the location was totally spectacular! Great value for money, Mateus was a really helpful guy. If you want to stay in a five star resort, ok, this may not be for you...if you want something closer to a a real Cook Islands experience.... book now!

Beautiful place right at the beach! Never spend so much time at my hotel - the perfect view! A nice kitchen and free bikes to use, has everything you need

This property is right on the beach overlooking the most beautiful lagoon. We loved snorkeling and stand up paddling straight in front of the hut. The accomodation is simple and rustic but it is priced accordingly. We had no issues with mosquitos in the bottom treehouse hut and were provided with a great mosquito net over a comfortable bed. Cooking meals was easy with kettle, toaster and a gas cooker and a good fridge. The shared toilets were kept clean and were conveniently placed. Overcast weather meant the rustic solar showers were cold but we were ok with this. The highlight of our time was the lagoon tour provided by Matthias. It was an amazing full day where we experienced everything at our leisure. Hire a car or a scooter to sightsee.

Very nice location with nice beach, charming set up, extremely friendly and helpful owner

The place is very run down, everything is old and shabby. The hut smells a bit rotten, there is no warm water in the shower, everything is too old. The place is too expensive to be that shabby

The location was fabulous and staff organised an excellent lagoon trip for us. Snorkelling off the beach was great

The facilities felt a little run down and the outside shower was not so great, especially with no hot water.

This was a real immersive experience of Aitutaki. Location was right on the beach within walking distance of resorts for meals. The lagoon trip felt like we were in a David Attenborough documentary

You get what you pay for here. We loved not being at a high end resort and soaked up the calm and quiet. The kitchen facilities were limited but we didn’t use them anyway.

The beachfront location is amazing considering the great value. Being a basic accommodation is perfect for me travelling on a budget but wanting beachfront location

    Close to beach

Hut was filthy, very small. Smelt terrible - like bad body odour & mouldy. Floor mat was damp and stunk. No smoke/fire alarm. Gas bottle/ camp bbq is inside the hut. No exhaust fan - so cooking grease/spray stays in hut. Kitchen cutlery & crockery was dirty, greasy & not properly cleaned after being used previously. Did not cook/eat there. Couldn’t open hut door properly due to bed. Primitive. Mozzie net above bed was greasy/dirty and covered in bugs. No where to unpack. Problems with electricity - electric jug would stop working & fan (could only turn on/off at wall switch - no on/off or speed settings could be changed on fan). Fan was rusted with sharp bits. Outside shower with flimsy/see through shower curtain. No privacy - especially when windy. Slippery metal shower stall flooring. Shower was also dirty / we had to remove a heap of someone else’s hair. No hot or warm water - ever!! Dirty/stained sheets, filthy/stained mattress. We started itching. Communal toilets small walk from hut. No drinking water in hut - only outside away from accommodation was a hose. Owner would “pop in” at any time/kinda creepy. No outside light on hut /deck.

As pictured on booking.com. Stunning location, the tradeoff for cheaper accomodation with shared toilets well worth it. Beautiful snorkel tour, couldn't have asked for a kinder host, thanks Matthias

✅ Private and basic - this is not a hotel or resort. ✅ Self-catered with simple kitchen. ✅ Beachfront balcony for relaxation or enjoying the view. ✅ Beautiful lagoon and sea views. ✅ Airport pickup/dropoff $20. ✅ Private open-air shower. ✅ Free bicycle use to explore the island. ✅ Beach access directly outside hut. ✅ Huts sheltered under trees and not exposed to hot sun or wind. ✅ The windows are screened only, providing plenty of ventilation. There are shutters for rainy weather (I never closed shutters). ✅ Complimentary tea/coffee and condiments. ✅ Scooter hire available. ✅ Wifi available $5 fee. ✅ Mosquito net over bed - did not have any issues with insects during my stay. ✅ Plenty of sun loungers, beach chairs and outdoor furniture. ✅ Short walk along the beach to Tamanu Restaurant next door. ✅ Short walk along the beach to Resort Tava'e - Restaurant & Bar. ✅ 10min bicycle ride to Tina & Co 24hr convenience store and liquor store for snacks, beverages, or basic supplies. ✅ Children are not allowed. ✅ Drinking water tap available - when asked if it was safe to drink was told that "no one has died" and look, I'm still here 😂 tasted nice and fresh. ✅ Foot baths at each entrance of hut to wash sand off feet, that's how on the the beach you are.

❌ Two shared toilets 🚽 - not really an issue, they were clean. ❌ $10 laundry fee - not self service. ❌ No aircon, however fan and open air windows provided sufficient airflow. ❌ Rooms not serviced during stay. ❌ No complimentary milk.

Nice location at the beach. Lovely little terrace where we had dinner every night. The fresh coconuts were super tasty. The snorkeling tour with the owner was amazing.

The dishes in the hut were not very clean and there was some outdated food (oil, herbs). The sheets had an interesting smell. The details of the tour could have been better communicated, e.g. no water provided, no vegetarian lunch.

The huts are a few steps to the water and surrounded by palms and trees. Just what you need to be in a South Seas paradise.

Confortable hut just next to the beach, there were bananas waiting in my hut and i got a freshly opened coconut from Matthias :) he is also doing lagoon tours and renting scooters and pick-ups from the Airport.

The mosquito net was a little bit old and dirty.. but apart from that everything was perfect!!
