I booked through booking.com but they still gave me the welcome package - well done and I was impressed. Love that the owner is on site and is in the bar every night for a korero.

Everything was perfect, the breakfast hamper was great. Elaine was exceptional when assisting us to check in and good communication leading up to our stay. The tapas bar was great with a good selection of food, and cocktails! Jess was very friendly as well. The room was amazing and the pool was awesome! We didn't want to leave and wished we stayed longer.

there was absolutely nothing we didn't like or love about ocean escape

Right from booking, the lovely Elaine was in contact.. not just in contact but matched my excitement and kept in touch. Her and the resort owner Barry offered us an earlier check-in knowing we were checking out of another resort on the island that day, then allowing us a later checkout to accommodate our departing flight. Elaine was so personable and caring and just an absolute gem, having daily chats and really making us feel like family. Barry was a regular chat too and we honestly left the resort feeling like we had made amazing friends. Barry's vision and execution of the resort is a great story and one he was happy to share in the bar our first night, and while we are on the subject the bar and restaurant... AMAZING! the best cocktails and Barry's personalized tapas menu was delicious 😋. The pool was stunning, salt water, gorgeous little room front loungers and umbrellas... rooms were stunning, great attention to detail and everything you need, including bug spray, beach mats, board games, smart tv, stunning showers! your own little outside couch.. great aircon and fans, USB charging ports, breakfast hamper and a bottle of bubbles!! Amazing massage in the day spa... I could go on and on, the bottom line is... We LOVED everything about the place and we will be back as soon as we can! Close to Muri, walking distance to Villis burgers... You will not be disappointed at the quality of this resort and the beautiful people.

No swimming in the sea off the beach

The resort was clean and modern. Rooms were great, staff were super friendly and the pool was awesome. Good food and drinks at the bar and would highly recommend the cocktails.

The villas were so nice and homey and the location was great just down the road from Villis burgers and the gas station all the staff were so lovely and helpful and the owners were so awesome. I will definitely be back to stay again. They have a spa on site too which was lovely and a restaurant with really nice for and drinks too. Just a short drive from everything and Soo relaxing!

Great place to stay and very clean. Beds are comfy and like the leg lighting in the room. We received a lovely welcome from Elaine when we arrived who greeted us by name when we walked in which made us feel special. We arrived at 8am and didn’t expect the room to be ready until normal checkin time but Elaine said the room is available for us. We were so happy be able to have the room ready early as we were so tired and hadn’t adjusted to the time zone yet. Elaine herself is a real asset to ocean escape she is warm and friendly with a lot of knowledge and can book or recommend anything you need. The room is stocked with everything you need to cook a nice breakfast and some extra snacks if you are feeling peckish. They have a tapas bar there too called bjs, the cocktails there are the best in the Cook Islands we have been travelling around trying them all and these ones by far are the best! The Pina colada and mojito are a must try. Thank you

Beautiful property. Lovely accommodation. Friendly staff. Loved our week at Ocean Escape. On-site tapas and cocktails can’t be beaten.

Rarotonga has a laid back approach to smoking which was a surprise coming from NZ, so smoke from the beach was blown into the room's veranda. Wee bit of room for improvement and probably fine if you're prepared for it.

The pool is amazing and sheltered from the onshore wind. Great to be able to hangout by the pool and beach for a few hours after check out before airport transfer.

Pool water to be warmer 😂😂

Breakfast items were supplied and we could prepare whatever we felt like whenever we wanted to which was a nice change. Nice quiet location.

Taking a shower could be challenging at times trying to balance the water temperature. Fluctiating from scolding hot to ice cold constantly at times. It seems the central plumbing system does not have special mix valves to prevent this problem.

-Excellent Facilities. We were blown away with the resort and the villas. All of the villas are based around the pool with easy access to the beach/pool and tapas bar but they also feel private. The pool is salt water from the lagoon which is also awesome! -Great staff. They were very helpful and assisted with all our needs especially Elaine!
