Hi Teri We are glad you appreciated the location of our property. In response to your other comments, it’s always disappointing when poor weather impacts your holiday. We love it when the weather is kind to our guests so that they can fully appreciate the beautiful lagoon and beach and wonderful location. Unfortunately there’s not a lot we can do about the weather (other than to sympathise). We are disappointed that you haven't been able to separate the weather from the property in your review. We don’t advertise breakfast and offering breakfast is by no means standard, so we’re unclear on why you thought it would be provided or how this is relevant to a review of our property. We do provide a welcome fresh fruit basket and plenty of teas and coffee sachets for the plunger, with milk and sugar (we do hope you enjoyed those) and we are located just across the road from 24-7 Wigmores Superstore where you can pick up whatever you need for breakfast and other meals. We are also a 2 minute walk away from Circles Cafe, which does reasonably priced and tasty breakfasts and good espressos. We actually don’t advertise the dryer - but we do provide one for guests’ free use as a bonus in our Guest Laundry. Due to heavy usage and overheating (our technician advised this was a result of the lint basket not being emptied after each use) the dryer stopped working during your stay and required servicing. Things do break down and we can only communicate with our guests and work to fix them as soon as possible - which we did (in fact, we replaced the old dryer with a new one shortly after your 5-day stay). As communicated at the time, there were plenty of clothes airers for use by guests in the meantime to dry clothes. Our living space is open plan, with separate kitchen, dining and lounge area spaces. The lounge area in our apartments is relatively compact (with space for the 2-seater love seat, and 2 separate lounge chairs, TV and coffee tables) but opens up fully to the beachfront patio which usually widens the space. This design was necessary to ensure the Master Bedrooms were at the front and had direct access to the patio and unimpeded views of the lagoon and beach (unusual for 2-bedroom apartments in the area). The Master Bedroom is where we and other guests often spend time in poor weather, on our comfy King sized beds, enjoying the views of the lagoon (which are stunning even when the weather is bad) and leveraging our unlimited free WiFi. We are very sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. We’d suggest choosing a place with expressly advertised breakfast next time - perhaps in a desert area - to avoid disappointment. A service approximately every 3-4 days (excluding weekends and public holidays) is included in our rate. We appreciate some hotels (generally those which provide daily servicing) may have policies that offer a credit if you opt not to have a scheduled service; but we actually prefer to carry out the service as it helps with management of maintenance and reduces wear and tear. Our team do an excellent job. Nono, our wonderful property manager, would have been on the case immediately had you let her know about the power tripping during your stay. We are glad it didn't affect you for long, though, and could be fixed simply, by flicking up the tripped fuse switch. We will have our electrician take a look now. We are so pleased you had a lovely, quiet and relaxing time, and agree the location is the best - right on gorgeous Vaimaanga Beach, but close to 24/7 Wigmore's Superstore and Go Cook Islands Car Hire, as well as local cafes and restaurants. We are sorry you didn't find our beautiful Scandinavian designed couch comfortable. It is a two seater to complement the two single chairs and work with the space, and so not designed to lie on (although our children always find a way) . We are absolutely delighted with the newly enhanced outdoor area, completed just before your visit, and are pleased your family were the first to be able to enjoy it. The WiFi was working perfectly when we ourselves left about a week before you arrived: fast with unlimited data - ideal for streaming, so we are sorry you experienced technical difficulties when you arrived. Apparently, some intervening weather had caused damage to the external antenna, and we are very grateful to George from Avaiki Connect for coming on the weekend (rare in the islands!) to sort it out for you. When we designed the apartments, we insisted that the Master Bedrooms be at the front, with direct access to the patio and the lagoon and beach view, so that we and our guests could wake up to those gorgeous unimpeded views and the sound of the waves lapping against the sand. This differentiates us, as most other two bedroom properties on the island place the bedrooms behind the living space; but the natural compromise was the width of the living room. To mitigate this, the tri-fold doors open completely to the beach-front patio and those amazing views, enlarging the space and allowing indoor / outdoor living at its finest.
