Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe liked everything!
Such a lovely and charming establishment. Really glad we chose this place. Roberto was so kind and helpful. He really could not have done more. He also saved us missing our ongoing transport as we hadn’t realised Punta Arenas is an hour ahead of Santiago. Be careful because our iPhones hadn’t automatically adjusted. Breakfast very good. Stay here, it’s so lovely. ♥️

BelgiumThanks to Punta Arenas' grid layout, Hotel Albatros is easily accessible on foot from the Bus Sur bus terminal (6 minutes). This well-maintained hotel exudes the authentic English atmosphere of a 1980s guesthouse. Friendly host Roberto goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. He's always available to provide additional information and assistance, or to offer a delicious, simple breakfast (excluding fresh fruit). The location is also ideal for walking to the Strait of Magellan, O'Higgins Street with its many restaurants, and the Plaza de Armas. Even though it's winter and whale watching or penguin nesting sites aren't possible, Punta Arenas, with its museums and delicious restaurants, offers a pleasant way to explore southern Patagonia.

United StatesIt was a bit off the beaten track, but that also meant it was quiet.
We arrived tired and were warmly greeted. Even through they don’t speak English and our Spanish is rudimentary, the hostess was a whiz with Google Translate! She recommended a great restaurant, prepared take-away breakfasts for our early morning tour, and kindly stored our luggage and called a taxi when we returned. The room itself was small, but comfortable and all we needed.

United StatesBathroom had some limited space and it's stairs up to the second floor, so this would not be a great choice if you have limited mobility. Maybe other rooms are better.
Staff lady was super nice and made us wonderful breakfasts to go since we were leaving quite early at 5am. She also helped us park our car off street behind their gate (the logistics of this seem tricky and I might not rely on it) the block this hotel is on has many adult nightclubs, which I didn't realize, but it was a fine walk down to the restaurants on the main street. We had a little two bed room that was great for our quick stay. The staff lady was very helpful and friendly despite my extremely limited Spanish.

AustriaThis is a small hotel, the room had a good size and was spotless clean. Breakfast was included and was very good. The staff is great - very helpful and friendly. They only have a few parking spaces but it was never a problem to get one. The location is perfect, the Plaza del Armas is only a short walk away.

United KingdomParking was small so we were told there was not space for us. We ended parking on the street but no problem at all. Although the hotel is located on a street with a few night clubs, we felt pretty safe and the only noise we could hear was from street dogs and seagulls. Punta Arenas has a different vibe from other cities, it's quite industrial I think.
The staff was very friendly, the hotel is very clean and cared for. They kept our suitcases until night that we had to head to the airport. Good breakfast! Free water is offered at reception.

United StatesUnused space in room would benefit from something such as an extra dresser or lounge chair with reading light or shelves or desk. Plus a mirror and wastebasket in the bedroom would be nice. Parking situation can get complicated as it is a small, one row space and requires "musical cars" depending on which guest is in first or needs to leave before another.
Very clean, spacious comfortable room on second floor. Satisfying breakfast buffet, plus senora cooked eggs individually if desired. Small parking area with security gate. Gracious staff.

United StatesNot on the best street, perhaps. But still, a very short walk to the main square and restaurants.
Roberto was a gracious and helpful host. Breakfasts were excellent. Convenient to main square and restaurants. Room was attractive and well-appointed. We appreciated having a parking space, and especially being able to have our laundry done. Very helpful in the middle of a 5-week trip.
