Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel is down a steep off-road path which can be a little hard to navigate, but once you have done it once is fine. The gate system is also a bit frustrating, but manageable (they give you a buzzer if you are going to be going in and out).
Great hotel in the Maipo, very clean, excellent showers, comfy bed and very nice room. Free parking. Breakfast served in the bedroom was great (although standard Chilean hotel fare). Facilities of the hotel were great fun. Pool is free to use (but it is very fresh). They have a bar you can order drinks from. Sauna (paid) was great barrel saunce for 2 people, very nice to use. Massages (Paid) was great). Hot tubs (paid) did not use but they looked great as well! Dinner (paid extra) we had both nights we stayed and was great 3 course meal. Not huge portions but more than sufficient. Food is probably a little on the pricey side compared to some places but not unreasonable, and the quality was definitely very good - had an excellent roast beef.

United KingdomTricky to find, patchy dinner service, treks are minimum 2 people and as a solo they wanted to charge me double so I didn’t do one, and the place needs a bit of updating.
Lovely peaceful spot by the river, unique boho local decor, good breakfast (excellent scrambled eggs!), small hotel & quiet, lots of break out spaces to relax and sweet & helpful reception staff (via google translate!). Nearby restaurants in San Alfonso. Perfect for a few days R&R and I felt comfortable solo.

AustraliaThis is a beautiful property. The grounds are lovely - right alongside a river with perfect spots to sit and let the world go by. The pool is fantastic and the whole place is relaxing and peaceful. Our room was lovely and the food was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay - especially the wood fired hot tub by the river!

CanadaWe loved everything about our stay. The wonderful hotel team helped us arrange our travel to the hotel. They were very responsive to our questions in advance of our stay and accommodating to my gluten free diet. The hotel location is perfection, very beautiful and serene. Every meal was delicious with exquisite presentation. The staff was top notch. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We would recommend Hotel Altiplanico to anyone as a destination to visit while in Chile. We can’t wait to visit again!

United StatesDidn't communicate the price of dinner at the hotel, ended up being higher than was in the email when booking. Didn't let us have our wine over dinner (even with a fee?). Overall communications could be better, especially over fees.
Beautiful setting. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely hotel, had basically the whole site to ourselves which was amazing. Didn't try most of the paid activities but facilities look good, besides dinner, which was delicious.

AustraliaFYI there is no wifi in the rooms or restaurant, you can only access it in the reception area.
Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location. Loved the scenery and aesthetic of the hotel. The restaurant was great, delicious food and they easily adapted to a vegetarian guest. They also delivered a delicious breakfast to our room which we ate outside on the balcony! Great value for money for the room, food and drinks were a bit pricier (but worth it!). We also had a view of the river from our balcony which was a great bonus!

CanadaThe rooms are getting a bit dated, you expect more from a 4-star hotel. There were no USB chargers, no iron available in the hotel.
We liked the ambiance of the hotel and people working at the hotel. Our room was very spacious. It was also nice to have a pool on the premises, and it felt very relaxing and safe. Restaurant was great, we were amazed by the quality of food and presentation. Special thanks to the waiter working at the restaurant, Santiago, he was excellent and very attentive to all guests!
