I wouldn’t call it a downside, but the hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the town center. During the day, it’s a pleasant walk, but on the way back at night it can feel a little tiring.

I was very excited for my trip to Rapa Nui, as it had always been a lifetime dream. My stay at Atavai Hotel made it even more special—it honestly felt like visiting friends from the very first minute until the last. I was warmly welcomed at the airport by Antoine and his family with a beautiful flower lei, and they kindly drove me to the hotel. Antoine took the time to explain what to do on Rapa Nui while I was sipping my fresh juice and then showed me to my room. The room was simple but very nice. It had everything I needed—Wi-Fi, a TV, a fridge, a kettle with tea and coffee. It was very clean and comfortable. Once you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and trees—it truly feels like a little piece of heaven. I only managed to have breakfast once during my stay because I had early tours most mornings, but that one breakfast was fantastic with a fresh omelette, fruit salad, and more. On my departure day, Antoine even suggested I spend my time exploring the town, and he personally brought my luggage to the airport before my flight. How nice is that! Small gestures like this really made me feel at home.

Very little. It is a little walk from the town but they suited us as it was quiet and peaceful.

The customer service from Antoine was fabulous and incredible value for money. The moment we booked he sent us such useful information. It was well signposted although he insisted in picking us up. We would not hesitate to stay her again.

The staff is really nice and welcoming, we had a great stay! They provide plenty of information about the island. The hotel is far enough from the ocean so you are safe in case of a tsunami alert, no evacuation needed! But still within walking distance from the ocean. We will stay there again when back in the island, thank you for everything.

Very friendly father and daughter, very knowledgeable about the island, gave me several phone numbers for tour guides that spoke English so I could book a tour the next day, hot water in the shower, small refrigerator and microwave in the room.

We loved the location and the wonderful view from our patio. The breakfast served at the hotel was delicious and good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The airport pickup and drop-off was very convenient.

There was a leak in the middle of the room from the roof when it rained. Only happened when heavy rain.

1) it gets cold at night and there is no heating 2) this place would be ideal for people with cars; otherwise, you will have to stop multiple dogs from following you and some of them will not take no for an answer :-) 3) The host was wonderful by waiting for us in the airport; but keep in mind that your courtesy drop off only happens at 12 noon; that is fine if your flight is not at 4:30pm 4) make sure that you have change because, and for the time in my travels, the cleaning staff will leave you a note asking for a tip

The very strong bleach smell, the property was clean but the smell was overpowering, plus the toilet look very basic and could be better designed, the shower curtains falling and the tiles joints white and black. The walls are not that thick as I could hear my next door snoring and I wish the wooden path goes from the room to the parking as it was muddy and wet crossing it.

Antoine was very nice and explained the site and tours well. The size of the room is quite nice, and the complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off, along with the welcome flowers and juice drink, were appreciated.

Although it is close to the airport, you can’t walk to the Main Street due to feral dogs in the streets that surround the place. This is in no way responsibility of Atavai Hotel though.

The room was spacious enough and had its own minibar and utensil so you could have tea or breakfast there. The tv had cable with very good signals. The bathroom was spacious and had a hair dryer so that was a plus.

- No staff were on site once their (cooking & cleaning) duties were performed, usually by noon, and after 4 or 5pm. - Grounds were not maintained well. On our stone path to our room, we had to walk through over-grown plants and weeds. - Breakfast was priced a little too high - about 12000 per person. - No screen door on entry glass doors. Would cool the room nicely on hot days/nights. Mosquitoes prevent door being open. - Would be nice if property had bikes to rent out, considering the location. Would be a nice convenience for guests and an income stream for the property.

- Staff was excellent! Owner, Antoine, was super-friendly and helpful. - Pickup and drop-off service between airport was a nice convenience, even though the distance is quite short. - Location. Was outside of town, quiet, close to airport, easy walk/bike ride into town and waterfront. - Rate. Was a little on the high in the window (my window, of course) of where a property rate should be, but within reason. - Horses, dogs, cats were around and on property. Dogs were behaved and quiet, horses grazed peacefully, and cat (gray) was sweet and playful. - Fridge, microwave, and kettle located in our room (5). Made having safe drinking water and basic meals possible.

Half the apartment had no curtains, so was fully exposed to the road. The electr8cs made no sense, all switches connected so turning on and off lights at random. Bathroom door was of glass. I know it was a double room, but still you'd like some privacy.
