Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt is far out of town, which wasn’t a problem until our flight was cancelled, and it would’ve been more convenient to stay closer to town. From previous reviews we expected to be able to speak English, but this wasn’t the case. It normally isn’t a problem for us, but when there’s problems like with our flight and airport transfer, it’s too advanced for us to communicate in Spanish!
Very beautiful location for star gazing, or to explore the sights around San Pedro de Atacama if you have a car or rent a bike. We saw the Milky Way just outside our yurt. We arrived very early after a 4-day trip to the salt flats in Bolivia and they allowed us to use our room immediately, which was very much appreciated! The yurt did get a bit cold at night and in the morning, but the bed is warm and comfortable, and the shower was hot and had good pressure. You can use the kitchen between 1-11pm, if you’re interested in cooking. The WiFi was excellent, both in the general areas and in the yurt.

GreeceThere was loud music from nearby properties until late at night.
Very clean place and spaces. Stayed in a tent which had comfy mattress and lots of blankets to keep warm. Shared toilet and shower in excellent condition, very clean, with all the needed amenities. Simple but delicious warm breakfast cooked at the moment. The location was perfect for night star watching, for sunrise and walking around the dessert.

FranceAltos de Quitor is a hidden gem! I stayed in one of their yurts and was blown away by how tranquil, peaceful, and comfortable it was. At night, the sky is unreal—I had 98% clarity for stargazing during my stay. The property keeps lights dim after dark, so there’s virtually no light pollution. I got to sleep under my astrological sign (Sagittarius), the Southern Cross and the Milky Way. The yurt itself was cozy and well maintained, with an incredibly comfortable bed and total quiet - perfect for rest and recovery. The shower had great water pressure and warm water, always appreciated in the desert. The hosts were kind and helpful, especially with arranging transportation. There's an easy and affordable shuttle directly to/from the airport, and if you book any group tours, you're usually the last pickup, meaning no long van rides around town. And if you ever want to pop into town, a taxi is about $5 USD. I ended up staying for part of my stay in town and the rest at Altos de Quitor, so I had the opportunity to explore San Pedro freely and then enjoy peace and quiet after. Breakfast was homemade, and the whole vibe of the place is one of serenity and care. This is by far one of the most calm and soul-nourishing places I’ve ever stayed. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

United KingdomNothing - was super impressed
Amazingly cosy yurt, located a 10 minute drive from the centre of SP. The bedding was incredibly warm for the cold nights, and hot showers available all day. The communal kitchen was well stocked with equipment and useful bits like seasoning and spices. Very helpful and warm staff, delicious varied breakfasts and the most friendly cat ever!

United KingdomWe loved this place!!! Livia and Angela, and the rest of the team who work there are so warm and friendly and they really took care to make sure we had a fantastic stay. The yurt was clean, fresh and comfortable - we had the best night’s sleep that we’ve had in South America :-) From there you can explore the area by bicycle we cycled to “the devil’s throat” it’s a winding track through desert caves, a landscape that looks like being on Mars it was so cool! They also offer star gazing tours on the property and the night sky looks incredible from this location. We’re backpacking and this place is only 10bucks more pp than a hostel but for private bathroom, breakfast private deluxe yurt - we were blown away by the quality for this price. Glad we booked and I’d highly recommend to any friend visiting San Pedro. Thanks so much Livia and Angela!

United StatesIt is about a 10 minute drive/bike ride into town. Not the worst, but Uber doesn’t work so you definitely need to plan ahead.
The staff was so friendly & accommodating, and the property was perfect. Felt like I was camping right in the mountains. The beds in the tents were pretty comfortable, it did get cold at night but each bed came with a fleece covered sleeping bag which was super warm and comfy.

United KingdomThe only thing I would change would be more places with shade to relax such as a few hammocks but apart from that excellent.
Feeling like an oasis in the desert. Exactly what we expected from a glamping tent. The showers and toilets were kept really clean. The breakfast was really good. A pool was super nice to have. We didn’t have a car so it was a flat but hot 30 minute walk into San Pedro.
