Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe rooms were a little small and the owner/staff could be a bit more helpful
The kitchen is lovely with lots of utensils and it is very clean. The showers were nice and warm with good pressure.

United StatesMy first impression is that the location was not very central. After a day, I realized that you can pretty much walk anywhere within 10 to 15 minutes and the neighborhood is very quiet
Staff was very helpful with orientation upon check-in and getting an extra blanket. The pond with Japanese koi and Tibetan prayer flags was a very nice touch. The house cats were cute

United StatesBeautiful wood house!! Multiple comfy common areas to chat and decompress including a fully outfitted kitchen which I loved cooking in. Rooms are spacious and clean with large windows. Staff and owner are incredibly kind and helpful! I had a medical issue while visiting and they took great care of me, helping me w/mobility issues, to find a doctor, stay as long as I needed, and more. They go above and beyond for their guests. Highly recommend staying there!!

This was one of the best hostels I have stayed in I would highly recommend it for anyone coming to Puerto Varas. The kitchen was well equipped and you have free tea and coffee available throughout the day. Everything was clean and comfortable host very friendly we really enjoyed our stay. Location is close to the bus stops and we were able to stay on after checkout and use the facilities.

United StatesI absolutely love this hostel. It feels like a cozy home and you will feel at ease immediately. It has a very comfortable and inviting kitchen and common area, everything is kept immaculately clean as well. You will notice the detail and effort put into the decor making this place the sanctuary that it is today. I Highly, highly recommend this place.

United KingdomSome of the bedrooms could do with more sound-proofing but they are so comfy with great bathrooms.
It’s a temple of peace and calm. Beautifully kept and very clean and characterful. Comfy sitting area and dining room and, outside, a pretty verandah with a carp pond surrounded by bonsai trees and the sound of running water. We stayed for longer than planned

GermanyA nice and clean hostel with a great atmosphere. The place is well-maintained and tidy, making for a comfortable stay. It’s located slightly outside the city center, which keeps it quiet, but it’s still very convenient with just a 10-minute walk to the main areas. Highly recommend it!

CanadaThere are two issues 1. When we arrived at 8:30 in the morning, we were ringing the doorbell many times but no answer. We had to stand on the street for half hour till after 9: am we were then allowed to get in. 2. The address on booking was not correct. We used UPS and ended at different location. The staff of that place told us the correct address. It was not too far, so end up all okay.
Location is good, room is clean and cool, kitchen is well equipped . Staff are nice.

United StatesWe had looked it up ahead of time and were very much prepared for this place to be about a 10+ walk from the heart of town, for anyone that isn't prepared just make sure you look that up and this place sits at the top of a hill :)
We had a private bedroom with shared bathrooms and we really appreciated how clean everything was. Too many times we have stayed in hostels where we can spot mold or other unclean things, but this place does a great job with their bathrooms. We also thought the vibe and energy from this place was very fun and welcoming.

United KingdomWe arrived in Puerto Varas by bus from Bariloche, and the bus station was conveniently close. Our stay at this hostel was excellent overall. We started in the loft room, which was quiet and private but lacked a private bathroom. However, the loft could use darker curtains to block out the morning light, and the steep stairs leading to the room might be a bit challenging for some. The shared bathrooms were spotless, and the communal kitchen was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The private bathrooms were also great, with plenty of hot water and a spacious bathtub-shower combo. The sink being separate from the main bathroom was a nice touch. One drawback was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms—you could hear quite a bit from the neighbors. The hostel is conveniently located about four blocks from the town center, though the walk involves going downhill to reach it. As someone new to hostels (this is my fifth one), I can say this is my favorite so far. I would definitely stay here again! Ps. They have pets. They roam the property. We did find the cat on our bed one morning. They are harmless.

We stayed in the new “Box”, which had just been completed. It’s actually a brand new, beautifully finished, modern cabin just outside the hostel. It was perfect for us and we still felt connected to the main hostel as we could still use the kitchen. They also have the friendliest staff and pets of our trip!

United StatesWe like everything about the Casa :) friendly staff, lovely cats and dogs, and of course the warm, nice house that has been taken good care of, already miss them! Great location — slightly off the center of the town but very quiet and nice (Arthur and I probably were the loudest lol), and totally walkable to anywhere including a nice cafe that is 3min away. Also, we love the kitchen! We’ve been traveling for a while and the family style kitchen allowed us to cook some dishes from home :) it means a lot to us. It would be better if the kitchen has couple chopsticks hahaha Would recommend anyone who wants to experience the daily life here to stay.
