Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesIgnacio is a fantastic host. He provided us with recommendations. He taught us how to light the fire in the wood stove. The cabin was very clean. The bed was comfortable. We had hot showers. Due to the temperate rain forest surroundings, it is hard to comprehend it is only a short walk to the center of town.

CanadaThe setting of the cabins is beautiful. Surrounded by forest, where you can hear the sounds of birds. We saw the large woodpecker and chucao. Ignacio, and his wife, the owners, are very helpful and go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. There is flock of chickens that roam free in n their property. You can buy eggs from them. Good access to Pumalin and to the ferry.

United KingdomThe sofa wasn’t the most comfortable and whilst the property is definitely clean it is heading towards the time when a ‘deep clean’ would be a good thing.
Ignacio couldn’t have been more helpful and gave us a great welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. He has four small cosy cabins set just on the edge of the town in amongst trees. It is quiet and peaceful, and only five minutes walk into the town. There is a boardwalk with steps up and down to the properties. The cabin was heated by a wood burner with kindling and wood supplied. The kitchen had everything you need to cook simple food and included washing up liquid and tea towel. The bed was comfortable and there was plentiful hot water for the shower. Would definitely stay here again.

AustraliaThe entrance and check in is hard to find. It is a very compact cabin, not easy with multiple suitcases. Would be better for a multi day stay when you had planned on self catering.

United KingdomGood location on edge of town within walking distance of main facilities. Ignacio is a superb host, allowing us to safely leave our bags on very early arrival & giving us very helpful information on where to go & what to do. He runs a small cafe in Amarillo with the shell of an old crashed DC3 which had to do an emergency landing in 1974. This is run by a delightful English woman called Beth. This is very close to Pumalin Park, but worth a visit on its own merits.

Puerto RicoIf you are looking for a place to stay in Chaitén, look no further! The cabins are immersed in a forest, which has been beautifully preserved. We learned a lot about the local flora and fauna thanks to Ignacio, who was kind enough to share his time and knowledge with us. We will definitely return!
