Macarena, it seems strange that you have left a review of our accommodation without having stayed with us. Also, I regret that the design and decoration are not to your liking, if you had taken the time to review the description of our lodging before making a reservation and if you had also given the time to observe carefully what shows all the photographs Published at Booking.com you would realize that the architectural design of the room is a Soft-Loft of the 50' that merges with the Vernacular architecture that characterizes the unique architecture of the island of Chiloé, architecture that is inspired by The Baroque introduced by the first Jesuits who arrived on this island, in addition to the use of wooden shingles introduced by the Dutch privateers and German settlers during the century of 1800, this type of architecture is far from been Gothic. No sculptures, no signed arcs, no stained glass or no rib vault exist on our property, designs that are the fundamental basis of Gothic architecture. While we add some blacksmith's nuances in the forged iron of the 19th century and Tingle in Piedra Laja of modern architecture, which did not originally exist on this island at the time of colonization, it is still very far from being Gothic architecture. The decoration of our property is also not related to Gothic art. Photographs of wildlife taken by me in different expeditions made in North America, South America and Africa are the ones that predominate in our decoration, as well as some canvas of the botanical painter of English origin Marianne North and the German naturalist Ernst Haeckel, paintings made in the century 18 and the beginning of the 19th century respectively. Also the decoration of the property is made up of unique museum pieces collected by me on different trips around the world. Finally, the numerous local crafts of Chiloe Island mythology and ships on scale such as Caleuche, HMS Beagle or the Buque Escuela Esmeralda either are related to Gothic art. That said, I am clear that in tastes there is nothing written, therefore respect your dislike with Gothic art, but I think reliably that Gothic art is one of the wonders that make up the history of humanity. What would it be from Italy without Milan's cathedral? London without The House of Parliament? Paris without Notre-Dame? Certainly, we would still be living in caverns!

Thanks for your review, just to let you know that city tax or local fees is collected in all cities in Chile and all almost countries around the world. This Charge normally is hidden and added to the final price, but many times it will be collected separately at check-in. This local fee goes directly to support and develop the tourism in the area, like road maintenance, trash removal, tourism info centers, etc.
