Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. I can't give this higher than a 7 because you can only get in and out of the property by ringing the doorbell which is really loud and gets extremely annoying with how often people are coming and going.
Just an average budget hotel. Nothing special but it's clean and everything works.

We were a bit afraid after the reviews but it was really pleasant stay. We would stay again.
We had a great stay, we could leave our bags prior to check in and the room was ready earlier so we could get in early. Communication was in Spanish but it was fine, we got really pleasant treatment. There is a basic kitchen to use (no cooking facilities though) and sitting area. The showers in the room were very new and nice, we had the twin room. It was really comfy.

Very nice women at reception! No word of english so a little Spanish helps. Great room and bathroom. Only missing a kitchen where we could Cook ourselves.

Kitchen is basic so difficult to cook meals, but not far from the town so easy enough to eat out and can prepare basic snacks and simple food.
Host was really helpful and nice! The bed was super comfy and the room spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and shower was good! Would stay here again.

Nothing - there are a couple of strip clubs opposite but they seemed very quiet, did not bother us, and it is certainly NOT a red light district (as another review suggests)
This is an exceptionally clean and comfortable hostel. The dining area is available for you to make your own breakfast, and the owner is very generous, storing bags and allowing early check-ins and late check-outs. It was so good, we stayed again a week later after a week in the National Parks.

The location might be a bit dodgy as it is surrounded bynight clubs.
The rooms and facilities are very clean and while the bedrooms aren’t that big, there are large areas for eating, hanging out and storing food. Tea and coffee is provided for free. The owner seems initially a bit rough around the edges but turned out to be a very sweet lady. Baggage can be stored after check out free of charge. Mattresses are a bit squeaky and the place is not in the best part of town, but I can recommend it.

There is a small window in the ceiling that you can’t open. Location is pretty far from the center but it’s a 10 minutes walk. Pretty shady clubs around the hostel.
Big and comfy bed, very large TV, good value for money. Helpful staff

Location. Does not feel dangerous, but is a street with a lot of night clubs

Some of the other nearby businesses were not so savoury. The exterior of the hotel was also a put off
The room was very clean, modern n well kept. Very comfortable bed. Sky light was a big surprise and a definite plus.

The process of ringing the bell or knocking the door to be let in echoed down the corridor to the rooms, which was only an issue later on at night when trying to sleep.
Beds were so comfortable, best night sleep! The room felt very clean + the noise levels were low

The communication was not very good. I send a couple of messages that we would be late, because of the ferry that could not leave because of the wind. But we never got feedback on this, do we had to keep knocking the door till somedody woke up just before 01:00
