Reviews of Hostal Piedrita de Rio

It's very natural place and I could see a lot of stars in the sky. We can rent a bike from this hostal. Also, it's possible to buy drinks included alcohole. We joined a tour from 5am, however the host, Elvira, made breakfast snack to go for us. She's so kind and sweet.

Hot water for shower sometimes didn't work well. Also,it'd be better if there is a kettle to boil water.

Clean, well furnished room and great atmosphere outside - hammocks, lots of places to sit. Elvira and her daughters were so attentive and thoughtful, anticipated our needs and took care of the small things. Very handy to have a well equipped kitchen - we cooked there every night. We didn’t mind the short walk to town at all.

We had a clean and comfortable room. The breakfast was nice and the hammocks were fun to relax in.

Although we read it was a bit out of the town we didn’t realise quite how difficult this would be - none of the tour agencies would pick us up from the hostel.

Everything! So quiet, clean, relaxing, large rooms, great large breakfast, and the host Elvira is amazing! She does Everything and is so friendly and helpful:)

Needs a proper sign to make it easier to find. Property was priced in USD but wanted payment in Pesos.

The lady takes care the place is very sweet. She is always helpful. The place need walk 10-15 minutes from city but is ok. The rooms are very clean.

You need walk little to arrive 15 minutes but is a nice walk.

Great place to stay, friendly and helpful staff. Hammocks and space for relaxing, great breakfast and bikes available. Can walk to central San Pedro in about 15 minutes.

Wonderful rooms, nice hammocks and calm feel, great breakfast. Bike rental is very handy and so was the car parking!

WiFi didn't reach bedroom so its worth checking this. The hostel is a, bit further away from centre of town but this wasn't a huge issue.

Elvira, the lady taking care of the place, made our stay amazing.

The friendliness of the staff

The location is good but there aren’t much options to go and buy groceries nearby

the solitude, you could enjoy nature. Sra. Elvira was a great hostess, very nice and helpful.

It was a little far from main town, but it was a walking distance.

Breakfast was good. Landlady was nice but spoke almost no English. Location was okay, walkable but not ideal. Free parking was nice.

Room was mid, walls were super thin and it was kinda noisy at night. The gate got locked after we went out for the night and we had to call to try and get back in. There was limited service and bad wifi it was not a good experience. We again had this issue trying to leave early for a flight, despite warning the landlady the night before. They required a cash payment but didn't let us know beforehand and so we were unprepared and had to use the ATM in town which we had not wanted to do and would have avoided otherwise.

Wonderfull staff, really friendly and helpful, they made us feel very at home! The rooms are spotless clean and the hammocks in the courtyard were definitely a plus!

The wifi did not function properly in the rooms or when all the guests were using it at the same time. The showers were not consistently providing hot water.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable Safe parking area within the gated facilities.

Hostel is on the edge of town, which is not an issue in itself, but getting there if it is your first time in San Pedro can be challenging as directions around town are not always clear

Elvira the caretaker lady is amazing. It's got a full kitchen for cooking your own meals. Thr location is just outside the town and we prefer it that way, it's quiet and take only less than 10 minutes to walk from mid of town. Sometimes, cute cats from the neighbourhood will come and visit.
