The room was cold although there was a heater and we were there in winter so this is not really a criticism!

The location was excellent and the hostel was very secure. The proprietor was friendly and helpful and answered our queries very promptly. We were able to store our luggage on the last day when we had an early tour. The courtyard and gardens were lovely.

I liked everything

This is a lovely place to stay.Location was perfect-a short walk to the main plaza...There were several cafés and restaurants nearby...The room was clean and comfortable and there was always hot water in the bathroom...The owner,Maria Florencia,is a lovely person-helpful,friendly and welcoming...She really makes the guests feel welcome and will go out of her way to help..She organised a taxi for me to take me to the bus station and gave me a lot of information about bus times...I am happy to recommend this place....Worth returning to...10 out of 10.

Hostal Sonchek definitely is your best cost-benefit option in San Pedro de Atacama. It is lass than 100 meters from Caracoles, the main street, and the rooms and services are very good at a very attractive price. Florencia is a differential from the hostal, making every interaction with the employees just perfect. Also the owners are very nice and kindness, always ready for help and provide assistance when needed. Despite you can not bring visitors inside the hostal, there is many great common areas that you can enjoy with the others guests - as a very good kitchen with teas, coffee and free coca leafs. The cleaness are very good dispite everything is very simple. Super recommend this place and also I will be back again as an guest anytime I visit Atacama. Thank you for everything!

A traditional well-maintained hostal, simple but very clean, with well equipped common kitchen and patio. Every room has a little terrace on its own. It is a little oasis only a minute walk away from the buzz of city centre (Caracoles). Landlady was very attentative and friendly with great support.

Excellent location for exploring San Pedro. We were also able to do laundry in hostel for 10 dollars. The place is clean, with lots of sustainable features. And a pleasant surprise to be able to practice Slovenian in the middle of Chile! :)

...the WiFI. If only there was a reliable connection as this is very important to travellers when coordinating stuff. I hope the establishment improves on the WiFI accessibility as otherwise this is just THE perfect location in San Pedro de Atacama.

Hostal Sonceck is an oasis of green and tranquillity, a few blocks away from the main square the Church, excellent value for the money. Located in a privileged position of San Pedro de Atacama, is a quiet place, situated out of the dusty streets of the neighbourhood. You are very nearby to restaurants and other touristic interest points of San Pedro, but safe, quiet and happy. The owner is a very nice lady, helpful and warm with all her guests. The parking provided for my rented car was a treasure in this place, because it is impossible to let your car unattended, so this was an extraordinary bonus. The restaurant Delicias del Carmen is split up by a wall and a window from the courtyard of the hostel. Great dishes, very well appreciated by the tourists, highly recommended as well. I would chose Hostal Sonceck again if I'm coming back to San Pedro de Atacama. Muchas gracias por todo !

WiFi signal can be a bit weak in the rooms, but generally okay if in the main courtyard. The room size can be a bit tight if you have many pieces of luggage. Only one small mirror above the sink, not sized for short people. And could do with a few more hooks for clothes.

Really great and central location, close to all the main streets, tour offices and eateries. The room was well insulated - warm at night but not too hot in the day. Laundry facilities on site for a fee, although the hostel expects you to hang and dry it yourself on the terrace clothes lines. Decent kitchen with good amount of pots, pans, utensils and common seasonings, although also starting to be a bit dated.

My one drawback is that even though the staff is really nice, no one is around after 1 so when you run out of toilet paper, and because in the 5 days we were there they only emptied the toilet bin once and never replaced the toilet paper, no one is there to give you any so you end up buying some TP yourself

The location is great, very quiet yet right next to the main street. The kitchen is well equipped and the garden is very pleasant. The room was spacious and comfortable with a good heater and very hot water.

Dark room without windows that got pretty cold particularly at night (during winter). The heater is much too small to heat the room particularly as there were large cracks in the door.

Location is very central and convenient. Large well equipped kitchen with real coffee (and tea, sugar, salt, oil,...). Nice safe atmosphere because it is always locked. Very friendly hosts. The private parking is in the same block but at a different entrance and you have to arrange with the owner to let you in/out which is a slight inconvenience.
