Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesAbsolutely nothing. This place is paradise. You won’t find a better place to stay on the island.
Ideal location. Beautiful. Peaceful. Quiet. The property is immaculate. The staff are warm and welcoming. The bed is probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in all my travels…and I travel over 100,000 miles/year.

NetherlandsThe bungalow needs a fan as it can get hot and therefore uncomfortable. The lodge is located outside town so you’ll need a car to get to shops, restaurants and so on.
Lovely lodge with a lush green garden and spacious bungalows. Bungalows are clean and have comfortable beds. Nice views over the sea. Complimentary transfers, drinking water, bananas and bug repellent.

United StatesOur hosts were wonderful and the location perfect, we liked being outside of the busier part of town. We really appreciated the attention from the hosts to pick up/drop off from airport, plus helping to arrange activities. One recommendation is a screen door for the large slider as we would have liked to enjoy the fresh air without mosquitoes, which are just a part of the tropical experience.

United KingdomA most delightful cabin set in tropical gardens with a secluded porch looking out over the sea. Fidji could not have been more helpful, arranging car hire, tour guide and providing fantastic information on the best places to shop eat and drink. The rooms were clean, very comfortable bed and the kitchen well equipped. Small touches like fresh flowers and real coffee for the kitchen made our stay just perfect.

United StatesIf you don't have a means of transportation, it's a bit of a walk (30 minutes) from the main street. We didn't mind it but it got tiring after a few days. Something to consider!
Jerome and his family were very welcoming and accomodating hosts. They provided transportation to and from the airport. The room was incredibly spacious with a stunning view. WiFi was strong. There was a kitchenette where we were able to make any meals, coffee and tea. There's a water jug too, which was so helpful.

United StatesI did not have anything that I didn't like. The property was as presented in the Booking app--there were no surprises!
Kona Koa Eco Lodge is a wonderful place to be--the room was very nice and just what I was looking for. The bed was very comfortable and the view was really nice. The grounds of the property are quite beautiful. The entire process of booking the property, multiple questions and answers post booking (e.g., cash versus credit card, laundry service, car rental, etc) and checking in and out was excellent. When I was in Rapa Nui, the property manager was very accessible on WhatsApp. I received restaurant recommendations which proved to be excellent, I asked for a recommendation for a local guide and the guide that was recommended was a fantastic guide. I was able to rent the car from Kona Koa and they picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. The entire experience was fantastic! The location is just far enough from town to be quiet but close enough that it only takes a few minutes to get to town. Two of the restaurants that were recommended were less than 5 minutes away

SwitzerlandThey promised us bikes (for free) – but on arrival they made big eyes and said – it’s not possible After we booked a guided tour with them. Guide was «no guide ». Just a driver. And we paid 2-3 time the real price. So we recommend to book with other agency.
Nice location. It’s far away from the city – so you can really enjoy nature. Staff is sweet. It’s not at al a «luxury» accommodation. Tools are tired. But we liked this lodge.

SwitzerlandNothing really.. perhaps would have been nice to have a toaster for bread in the kitchen.
Beautiful lodge-style accommodation with a tropical feel. Loved the decorative tree elements, open shower, little kitchen with water bottle and some basic ingredients, like coffee, tea, herbs and oils. Nice verandah with chairs to relax and enjoy the view towards the sea. Was great to rent a car from the friendly owners, and they helped organise tours with a local guide as well as a laundry service. Short drive to town as well as viewing point at Tahai.

United StatesIt is about a 20-25 minute walk to town or any food/beverage options. If you’re not up for that, you’ll need to rent a car or bike. We wished we had known before we came that it is an “eco” lodge and you don’t have power outlets except to charge phones and such; no blow dryers.
This is a great cabin with a beautiful view. Good quality linens and a nice bed. We loved the outdoor space for eating, hanging out, and watching the sunset. You can easily walk to some of the statues at free sites, which was amazing. The kitchen is stocked to cook simple meals, which is nice (no microwave, though). The hosts couldn’t have been nicer and offered recommendations for anything we wanted to do. They have a rental car onsite which is a good value, too. Overall, this is a great place and we really enjoyed it.

The best possible stay in Rapa Nui, in a privileged area overlooking the sea and with very well-kept surrounding gardens. Fidji's friendliness and attention to detail made the stay memorable, and it was a privilege to spend the days in Kona Koa. The lodge can be easily accessed by car, and is very quiet and reserved.

United StatesWhat is not listed on booking.com is that the full name is Kona Koa eco-lodge, so I wasn't prepared for that. It means for example no hairdryer (it will break the electricity even if you bring one). Although if you really care, the owners can provide a solution. There is no hot water in the kitchen so it's tough to get the dishes clean. Once you adjust it's all totally good, but it was just a surprise to me. The property is located a bit outside of the town center so you will need to rent a car. The roosters woke me up early in the mornings, but having driven around Easter Island, I expect that would be similar in every hotel/lodge
The owners of the property are very friendly and helpful, that's really what makes this a Kona Koa (visit it to find out what that means ;). The cabin is comfortable and the view is amazing, I could see the ocean and the sunset over the ocean from my bed :) I stayed for 10 days and wish I could have stayed longer

ChileWe had a fantastic time at Kona Koa lodge. The staff was excellent. Jerome was very responsive to my questions when making reservations and planning the trip. Fidji was so kind, gracious and professional meeting us at the airport with a beautiful floral lei and was available all day every day to answer questions and give recommendations. The rooms were very clean and bedding was very comfortable. We will definitely stay at Kono Koa lodge again. We loved that it was a bit out of the city. It was so quiet and peaceful with breath taking views. Jerome and Fidji arranged fantastic tours for us with our guide Juaquin who shared with us his beautiful island and the history of it. Kona Koa Lodge made our trip to Easter Island a wonderful adventure to be remembered always.

United StatesFrom the moment we arrived at Kona Koa Lodge, we knew our stay was going to be something special. Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Rapa Nui, this lodge truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Jerome, our host, was the epitome of warmth and hospitality. He was attentive and always available to help with anything we needed, from local tips to arranging transportation. His guidance made our stay both easy and enjoyable. The room itself was a highlight. Spacious and immaculately clean, it offered a tranquil retreat after days spent exploring the island. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the overall quietness of the location meant that every morning we woke up refreshed and ready to tackle the day's adventures. The lodge’s amenities and its serene setting contributed to a feeling of exclusive privacy and comfort. For anyone visiting Rapa Nui, I cannot recommend Kona Koa Lodge enough. It’s not just a place to stay, but an integral part of the experience on this unique island. Jerome and his wonderful lodge are sure to make your visit unforgettable!

United StatesIt is advisable to rent a car to easily access the town for groceries, dining, and exploring this beautiful island.
Kona Koa is a beautiful property, situated on a hill facing west, offering perfect views of the sunsets. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to the town center. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and well-maintained, surrounded by beautiful gardens and delicious fruit plants. Special thanks to the owners, Jerome and Fidji, who were friendly and helpful. They assisted us in arranging car rental and connected us with amazing tour guides who took us on private tours around the island and its caves. We particularly enjoyed spending our mornings on the terrace, which featured a kitchenette. The famous sunset spot at the Tahai complex is located very close by.

Absolutely everything. Our accommodation was lovely and comfortable. We loved being able to see the sea from our patio. Owners Jerome and Fidgi are absolutely outstanding. They were incredibly friendly and helped us coordinate the details of our trip such as obtaining guides for the park, making dinner reservations, and airport transport. We were also moved by the small gestures: Jerome allowed us to use his hiking poles and brought us mangoes from his tree.
